I wake up every day thinking I might have a chance of seeing my real parents one more time. But it never happens. I remember every day, and it still pains me, that my parents are dead. I swear to myself every morning to never get on a train because of what a train did to my parents. Because of its crash they're dead. But I can kind of see them, but only in pictures.
All of this goes through my head as I eat my breakfast, pancakes. I look up to find the syrup. I didn't realize Nick sat next to me. Our parents died when he was only three. He looks at me and smiles. I give a fake smile back and take the syrup. Alli is on theothe side of me, she's fifteen she was eleven when our parents died.
"Hey, Lilla," Alli says.
"Morning," I say back.
"If Zach isn't up when your done can you wake him up?" Alli asks.
"Sure," I reply. So after I get done I go up to his room. It smells like B.O. in here. So I go quickly. I walk up to his bed and sit on his back. "Alli says get up," I tell him. He grumbles a bit. "Besides, my twelfth birthday is tomarrow so do what I say please." It works it's why I do it. He gets up, so I go out. Fresh air, finally. I walk past Sam, my oldest sibling, he's sixteen.
"Hi," I say.
"Sup," Sam says in his unfriendly tone.
"Do you know where Marcie and Todd are," I ask. Marcie and Todd are our foster parents.
"Yes," He replies.
"Where?"
"The hospital."
"Why?" I say kind of alarmed.
"Marcie was having a sesure this morning," Sam says like it was nothing.
"Oh,have you had breakfast?"
"Yes."
"OK." I walk to my room. I brush my hand against my tiffany blue wall. I go to my black calk board painted wall opposite of my door. I write "Puppy" on there meaning I want a dog. I sit on my bed and get on my iPod. Iook through pictures of dogs. I find a really cute girl dog, King Charles Spaniel, she's all brown. This is my dream dog.
"Hey, Lilla?" Nick walks in.
"Oh, hi," I say.
"Did you hear what happened to Mrs. Marcie?"
"Yeah."
"What will happen?"
"I don't know." I look at his sea blue eyes he looks like me, blue eyes and blond hair. We're the odd ones, everyone else looks like my dad did, black hair and hazel eyes."All we can do is hope she'll be okay."
"Will we go to a different family?" Nick asks.
"Um, I don't know." Thankfully there's a knock at the door. Alli walks in looking worried I think anidk has his answer. "Hey Alli. What's up?"
"Come in the living room we'll talk there," Alli said nervously. We walk down stair into the living room. I sit on the black couch and Nick sits next to me. Sam sits in the brown leather chair next to the other black couch where Alli and Zach are sitting. "Okay is everyone listening?" Alli asks." Sam you're the oldest do u want to tell them?"
"No," Sam said simply. He goes back to putting his slightly long black hair over his eyes.
"Okay, um, well you are probably wondering about Marcie, and I have the news. She's not doing good and so Todd didn't want to leave us home alone all the time because he doesn't like having to leave Marcie, so in the morning a person from a foster camp will pick us up. So,we need to pack." Then Alli got up so did everyone else.
In my room, I get out my blue and black suit case. I start folding up mycothes and put them in. Soon when I'm done I look out the window, the tire swing is swinging slightly because of the little wind. I look at the leaves, they're turning orange like they're supose to in early fall.
I bring my bags down stairs with my pillow. By then its close to lunch time, so Alli is makingham and cheese sandwiches. We watch TV, while Zach tries to scare Nick about if we get adopted we'd have to go to regular school. We are home schooled by Marcie. We eat and then tell jokes.
"Okay I got one, guys!" Nick exclaimed." A, b,c, d, ,e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, and z.
"You didn't say p," Alli said.
"Aso where it is."
"Where is the p," I ask.
"It's running down my leg!"
Everyone laughs at that, except Sam, who's looking at stuff on his phone. I can't tell because it doesn't come clear through the reflection on his glasses. All I see is words but I can't tell what he's reading. "Hey ,Sam, guess what?" I ask trying to get him to talk.
"Ugh, what?" Sam shapes.
"Your phones gonna die soon."
"No it won't."
"Okay then."
We hang out for a while, then we watch TV. For dinner we ate fish sticks and French fries. We start getting ready for bed and watch TV. Nick lays at the end of the couch I'm on, we talk for a while. But he soon falls asleep. Then I do to.
