05.|Who Is She?

Christian's POV

I got to The Vault and Rousey, the clerk has already begun with her daily routine of flirting with me. I get to the changing rooms and change from my clothes and quickly throw on my black shorts and grey shirt with my black and white converse. As I leave the changing rooms I crash into the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Her almond eyes which seem to stare straight to my soul, her small yet voluptuous lips and her caramel skin all mesmerize me.
"Watch were you're going", my tone coming out harsher than I intended. Ever since I had that falling out with my dad I just can't seem to get my head in the right place and I'm now left watching her stummer an apology while she did nothing wrong. Feeling like an idiot I walk away towards the punching bags suddenly having the urge to hit something and release all of this pent up rage. I put on my boxing gloves and punch the bag as if my life depended on it. "Whoa what did that bag ever did to you?" says my best friend Jared, while taking off the gloves and catching the bag.
"Nothing much, just needed to release some steam". I jokingly throw punches at him. "Dude did you see the new girl?" he asks, "Yeah, I did" "Aaaand?" he continues trying to get a reaction out of me. "She's okay" I say trying to end the conversation as it seems that even talking about her makes me lose my focus and yet I still don't know her name. It's funny actually, how she already takes up space in my head though I don't know who she is. "Okay! Dude okay doesn't even come close to her..." "Dude don't you have a girlfriend?" I emphasis and he shuts up immediately. I get back to punching the bag and my thoughts become overwhelmed by her while Jared bores me with his never ending stories. I hear Diego's voice calling Jared and I over to where he is with the mysterious girl. "Chris I want you to be her sparing partner" he says and all I do is my head. I look at her now noticing the long yet lean legs that has, finally taking in all of her. "Okay I want you to go easy on her, she just got the basics down okay?"
Diego says to me and I nod. I watch as Jared sits himself on the mat with a huge grin on his face clearly excited for this. I look at her and see that she has already taken her stance trying to make herself look intimidating but her face it's nearly impossible. I take my stance and out of nowhere I feel a kick to my mid-thigh. For a girl the kick is impressive but I quickly dodge her punches and try to put her down. She wiggles her way out and she surprises me by trying to put me in the arm bar but I quickly deflect that and sweep my leg with her hers taking her down. I help her up and as our fingers touch I can't help but feel the electricity that shoots up my arm and wonder if she felt it too.
"For a beginner that's pretty impressive, where did you learn that?" Diego asks "I did a little MMA when I was little" she says "I'd say you're really good and I'd like it if you train with Chris here. He's our top student and you wouldn't mind helping me out right?" he says directing the last part to me. "Yeah sure, no problem" "Okay, well then let me leave you guys to get acquainted I have a lot more clients to tend to" and just like that he jogs away. I look at her and realize she's biting her probably a force of nervousness I suspect. "Hi, I'm Christian" I introduce myself whilst extending my hand out to her. She slowly but surely accepts my handshake, and there it is again, the electricity.
"I'm Alex" she says and the sound of her voice is like music to my ears. "I'm sorry about earlier, I should've looked where I was going" she gives me a shy smile which pulls at something deep within me and I apologize to her as I'm embarrassed by the way I acted towards her. I reluctantly let go of her hand and a coldness washes over were her hand was. "Well if he isn't going to introduce me, my name is Jared and that guy over there is my best friend", he says while pointing a finger at me. "Can I tell you something?" he asks and I can see the tension quickly resolving and her posture relaxes and she nods " That's was really impressive, I mean the way you caught him off guard. You should've seen the look on his face" "Okay enough with that, why don't all hit the showers and meet back here and go grab a pizza?" secretly hoping that she agrees.
I notice the slight hesitation and I quickly add "Or we could go to the lounge and order some milkshakes?" she beams with a smile and I find myself thinking that I'd do anything to get one of those smiles again. "Sure, I'll meet you guys there." "Cool".

"Looks like my boys got the hots for the new girl" comes Jared with his teasing... "Piss off dude" I retaliate with a smile on my face.
