My name is Vivian Wood. I'm 13 years old, and my birthday is August 2nd, 2008. I'm starting a new school tomorrow!

I lay there, worrying about school the next day. I didn't know anyone, I'd be lonely. What if I get in trouble, or don't have the equipment I need? I rummaged through my duvet for my bear, I'd had it since I was very little. I found it, then lay, it's head pressed against my face. Eventually, I dropped off to sleep.

I had the most horrible dream. I'd arrived at school and everything had went awfully wrong! The other kids were crowding me, sneering at my tangled, red hair. I'd gotten into trouble with the head, I forgotten my school bag.

I woke with a start, my bedsheets all hot and tangled with sweat. I was so stressed but I knew that school wouldn't be all that bad. I reached out to check my clock. 3:45am, September 2nd. I knew that the chances of me getting back to sleep were quite low. Though I finally fell back asleep, the raindrops splatting on my window.

The morning soon came, I'd set my alarm for much earlier than usual so that I wouldn't be late for school. 6:45am the clock read. I covered my ears as the alarm blared in them.

At last, I got to my feet and stumbled to switch on the light. It felt strange changing into my new uniform. I didn't like the blazer too much, or the tie. When I'd finished getting changed, I checked my clock again, 7:00am it said. I walked over to my mirror, tripping over shoes as I did so. I grabbed my mascara and quickly applied it, my green eyes standing out against my long red hair, then put a comb through it. Did I look okay?

I found the cereal and tipped them into a bowl, dropping most of them on the floor. I got the milk and poured myself a cup of juice. "Viv?" I heard my mum enter the kitchen, "you're up early!" she said. Well obviously, because I don't want to be late on my first day do I?

I ran round the house looking for my school bag. Where was it? "How the heck is it already 8 o'clock?!" I ask, surprised. I found my bag at last! And I sprinted out the house and to the car. My mu was already there, waiting for me. "Come on Viv! You'll be late!" she called as I climbed in.
