I was in my room getting dressed for the night out with mother and father when there was a knock on the door. Mother had hollered for me to get it and I skipped down the stairs. Opening the door I see that it is Aunt Lilly who was here to watch the twins so we could go out for the evening. Aunt Lilly was dressed in a royal blue dress with a medium grey corset that made her metallic red eyes pop out against her olive skin.
"Hi Aunt Lilly." I greeted as I opened the door to let her in. "Hi Charles. Are you excited to have the evening with just you and your parents?" She asked. Her voice coming out soft and happy. I nodded my head at her as I heard my mother and father coming down the steps with my twin siblings, Athena and Leto. "Hello Lilly." Father greets as he moves to set Athena in the sitting area.

I noticed how Aunt Lilly slightly bowed her head at father and replied with a warm smile, "Hello Lycon." Aunt Lilly turned to see my mother walking up to her and embracing her into a hug while exchanging greetings. Mother was telling Aunt Lilly everything she needed to know about watching the twins and letting her know when we would return back home. As we were leaving the house I see Aunt Lilly and Father having a conversation and Aunt Lilly did not look too happy about what she was hearing.

I shrugged off the feeling I was getting from watching them talk because I was too excited to spend the evening with mother and father to let it bring me down. I walked with mother down to the buggy which was connected to one of our horses and got in. We waited patiently for a few more minutes and was then joined by father as he shook the reigns to make the horse start walking. I turned to the side and seen aunt Lilly standing in the door way watching us leave with a sad and guilt smile.

I turned away as Aunt Lilly was no longer in sight. I was so excited for this evening because Father was taking mother and I to the first gala of the year. This was going to be my first time going to once of these because I am finally of age to attend such an adult ball. Mother was sitting beside me just looking out at the trees as they passed us by. I hear the sound of father cracking the reigns again to make the horse go just a little faster as we did not want to be late.

After about twenty minutes of nothing but the sound of the reigns cracking and the hooves of the horse against the cobblestone road. We finally pulled up to a beautiful mansion that I have never seen before. It was huge compared to our home. The mansion itself was made out of red bricks and extended upwards making it a 3-story building. I too if the front double doors was a balcony that had a blood red banister around the edges to prevent anyone from falling over. Father pulled the reigns tight to make the horse come to a complete stop. He let go of the reigns and climbed down from his seat. He came to mothers side and extended his hand to help her climb down. Once her feet were planted to the ground he turned to help me as well.

As we got closer to the double doors that led into the mansion I could smell the freshness of the grass and the flowers that were planted along the sides. Father knocked in the door and waiting for someone to answer. Once the doors opened and we were led inside to the ball room by a butler. I couldn't help but be in awe of the inside. The floors were a shiny dark mahogany wood, there were portraits of different men and women along the hall that we were led down. I could swear that the last portrait that I stumbled upon looking just like father. I stopped in my tracks to examine the man in the picture. He had the same eyes, nose, and mouth as father. His hair was even the same fiery red hair that father has. I couldn't stop staring. As I stood staring at the man in the picture I could smell mother's perfume as she stood behind me.

I turned slightly to examine my mother. She has ocean blue eyes that pop out against her sandy, tan skin. Her hair is white as snow and she has a button nose that sits perfectly in the middle of her face. I have always wondered how she came to have her features but have never asked as her and aunt Lilly do not look alike. She noticed me looking at her and gave me a small smile as she put her hand on my shoulder and said "Come Charles, father is waiting." I smiled back at her and nodded my head. As she turned around to walk towards father I took one last look at the picture and shook y head to rid the thoughts that the man could be a relative of father. Turning on my heels I sped walked a little bit to catch up and walk behind mother and father as we made our way into the room where the gala is being held.
