It was New Years Eve and Bruce was throwing the first New Year's Eve gala in two years, he stopped when Damian disappeared but decided to bring it back now that he was back too. Damian and Jon were still yet to arrive but the gala had gotten into full swing by now. The guests were dancing, talking, eating and drinking. Bruce and Clark were mid conversation when the room started to fall silent, they turned to see that Damian and Jon had arrived, Bruce assumed the silence was over this being Damian's first public appearance in two years. Damian and Jon walked through the crowd and arrived to their fathers.

"Are you happy, I came and now since everyone has seen me, I can leave" Damian stated

"No you can't, you're staying. Try and enjoy yourself" Bruce exclaimed

"Yes do it is quiet a nice evening" Kori stated as she and Dick planted themselves into the conversation

"Hey Damian" Dick said

"What's wrong" Damian asked

"Nothing why would you ask that" Dick replied

"You didn't call me Lil'D, as much as I am glad for this change in character I want to know why?" Damian stated

"Oh no reason maybe we aren't close enough to have nicknames" Dick replied

"You're mad because I haven't talked to you in a week" Damian sighed

"Maybe, but maybe not" Dick said

"Well I've been busy, we've been busy haven't we Kent" Damian asked

"Huh?" Jon asked coming out of his daydream

"We've been busy right" Damian asked

"What n...yeah, yeah we have extremely busy no free time at all" Jon replied as Damian squeezed his hand and glared at him

"Hmm, I want to believe you and I will, but I feel something is off" Dick laughed ruffling Damian's hair earning a scowl

"He takes his hair very seriously, he spends so much money on gel to make it really spikey" Jon laughed

"I do not" Damian exclaimed

"Lil'D, yes you do. Bruce doesn't he" Dick questioned

"Damian you do spend way too much on hair gel" Bruce replied

"Tt, fine everyone is entitled to an opinion even if it's wrong" Damian sighed

"Looks like we hit a nerve" Dick laughed with Jon

"I am going to kill you and" Damian said to Dick and then proceeded to whisper something in Jon's ear which caused Jon's eyes to go wide

"Damian we are just having some fun" Dick stated

"Okay that's enough teasing for one night, I never thought I'd have to say this but go have fun and don't be hanging around your parents we aren't supposed to be cool to you guys" Bruce said

They eventually before midnight all headed up to the roof to watch fireworks go off, but before hand Bruce gave a speech which Damian rolled his eyes at because his father stood up there talking and talking about how grateful he was for the past year and to have the whole family together.

Meanwhile downstairs...
"Stick to plan, get the heroes attention and I will yes the device on one of our three test subjects" Slade stated

"We know, we know now quit your babbling and let's do this" Harley smirked

"Let's" Joker replied

"Remember do not kill anyone, that is not part of the plan" Talia ordered

"Understood" Harley sighed

They all took their positions and as soon as everyone had come down from the roof and congregated in the main lobby for one last speech, the villains made themselves known. They had locked all exits, well most exits excluding the ones they didn't know about. Bruce stayed because it would be odd if Bruce disappeared not that it would be noticed amongst the chaos. Damian and Jon also remained while the others ran to change, they blended into the crowd while the chaos ensued.

"Everyone calm down, we are not here to kill or rob you" Harley exclaimed

"We are just crashing the party, Brucie where's my invitation go?" Joker asked laughing

"Yeah, where's the invitation go I thought we were friends" Harley asked Selina

"Will you two stop it, we need to be ready" Slade stated

"You're not in charge" Harley spat

"I am, do what he said" Talia exclaimed

Jon had left while this was going on, because it was taking the Bats too long, he came back but remained hidden.

"If you're not here for money or to kill us what do you want?" Bruce questioned

"Ohh hush billionaire boy" Slade replied

"We are waiting for the calvary to arrive, we want one of them" Talia stated

"Calvary?" A guest asked

"The Batman and his sidekicks" Joker grinned

"We have a new weapon we need to test, now where are these dang Bats the foul every other plan" Harley exclaimed with frustration

"They'll be here" Talia stated

"Who'll be here?" Jason asked from behind them

"I think they were talking about us" Dick stated

"It's rude to talk about people behind there backs you know, please tell me it was all good things you were saying" Tim stated landing beside Jason

"You said too much, you don't get how this banter thing works do you" Jason asked

"Ki..." Slade started

"Hush, we will be with you in a moment I need to teach Red Robin here a thing about banter" Jason interrupted

"Did he just..." Harley started

"I will shoot the next one to speak" Jason exclaimed

Talia whistled and Grundy and Clayface came crashing through the wall causing Tim and Jason to leap out of the way.

"Hey I was in the middle is something" Jason exclaimed

Damian watched his brothers from the crowd in the purest form of disappointment, so he disappeared to get into his uniform, because of you want something done right you do it yourself. When he returned Slade spotted him as he tried to sneak around to a vantage point and aimed the new weapon and fired.
