One minute, touring with my girlfriend was absolute heaven. It was amazing to get to watch her on stage, bouncing around and singing with everything she had. After, I'd get to see her in the pit with the security guards as my calloused hands worked my guitar strings.
Then, the next minute, it was sheer hell. I'd have nothing but harsh looks from the stage. We stopped hanging out on each other's buses. I never saw her in the pit. All of this was happening with no explanation and I had about enough of it.
"Hayley." I mumbled as I followed her in the parking lot. She stormed away to her bus.
"Don't talk to me." Her voice was muffled from not facing me. Her steps became wider as she tried to speed away from me.
"I need to talk to you!" I shouted at her, trying to keep up.
"I don't want to talk." She grouched, opening the door to the bus and stepping inside. I stopped the door from shutting on me.
"So you're just going to keep ignoring me when I don't even know what you're pissed about?" I stood there as she sat on the couch and looked at me with an 'are you kidding me' look.
"What the hell do you mean you don't know?!" She stood up, grabbing a magazine from the tiny dining table.
"No I don't know-" I cut myself off as I stared at a picture of me with one of my high school friends. The title contained the words 'cheating on Hayley' and I nearly vomited at the sight.
"How do you explain this?" She growled at me, throwing the magazine away. "Why would you do that to me?"
"I didn't! Why are you trusting a tabloid and not me?" I nearly shrieked.
"I-I don't know!" She stuttered, tears formed in her eyes.
"Come on, we've got a show in a little. I can't have you doing this to me." I giggled, wiping some tears from her pale cheek.
"You never cheated on me?" She whimpered, a slight giggle coming out of her slowly brightening eyes.
"Never in my life. You're too perfect for me. I don't want to jeopardize that." I grabbed her hands and kissed her forehead.
"Don't say that." She smiled up at me. "I'm sorry for ignoring you these past couple days."
"Definitely not your fault. I would've done the same thing." I winked at her. "We've got a soundcheck to do." I started pulling her off the bus.
"You're right." She shook her head. Even though I didn't do it, I hated seeing her so defeated!
"Hey, don't worry about it." I stopped and looked at her. "Everyone screws up once in a while." Her smile could light up a room.
