There Rayne sat on the sofa, the lights were dim. There was nothing besides the glow of the tv screen and a lamp on a nearby side table. After a brief period of time, a roar of thunder shook the house, knocking out the power. "Ugh. That's just great, I was watching a horror film." She whimpered, She pulls out my phone and turned the flashlight on. Rayne began to wander around the house, not too certain what she was looking for. It was unsure of how long she had been walking around before another roar shook the ground. Rayne squealed, dropping her phone in the process. There she stood in front of the glass doorways that led to the backyard. The rain was pouring down while the wind howled. It was not a pretty sight at all, the storm appeared strong. She was the only one home, she became worried about her family. She began to step away before another thunderbolt made itself known. Rayne was barely able to make a few steps away before she notice's a silhouette standing directly in the doorframe. There he stood in front of the glass door, covered in black from head to toe. She couldn't see anything up past his nose. There she stood frozen unsure of what she saw was real or her subconscious playing tricks. The howling roar of thunder made her heart drop. A second glance and he was gone. Her mind wandered while her heart went crazy. She was afraid, perhaps also a little hazy. He vanished, in a blink of an eye. She still wasn't too sure if what she saw was real.

The female was shaken up and ran up to her bedroom as fast as her limbs would let her. Soon she decided to sleep, although her body was restless. Tossing and turning, a million things crowded her head. Was he even real? Was she dreaming, merely seeing things? Her mind went crazy, while her heart was racing. It seemed her heart would jump out of her chest. She rolled over in her bed, and there, she saw him again. Rayne's body was frozen with terror, there she laid, lifeless. This black silhouette was frightening. He gave a sinister smirk, mockingly waving at her lifeless body. she was terrified and wanted to run for her life. She laid there paralyzed, so much fear ran through her. The thunder roared once more and like before, he vanished. She shot herself up, gasping for air. It all seemed surreal.

With no other plan, she bolted out of the room and wandered throughout the house, in search of a phone. Although, It seemed useless to search throughout the house. She was looking for a telephone to call her parents. Of course, she forgot how large the house was, how vague and scary it grows. Instead, she found herself in her parent's bedroom. There she locked herself within her mom's small room, she called it her little chapel. Her mother used it as a place of worship. On a small table laid a bible wide open to a certain verse, next to it a list of scriptures, and what seemed like holy oil. It was strange, Rayne felt safe. How ironic since she didn't even believe in the same things her mother did.

Eventually, Rayne had fallen asleep in the room, it wasn't her plan too. She rested soundly there for maybe just a couple of hours. Later her parents had arrived home, flicking the lights on throughout the house. They were welcomed to a silent, clean home. Their son was sound asleep in his room. Next, they checked Rayne's room, wondering if she was asleep too. Well, she was, just not in the right room. Her mother started calling her name, trying to figure out where her daughter was. Both of the parents searched throughout the whole house, making sure they checked every room. Eventually, they believed that she had snuck out of the house. It was a couple of moments later that Rayne's mother went to her room. She pulled her jacket off, opened the closet door, and there Rayne laid, soundly sleeping on the floor. Her mother smiled to herself, looking over to her husband, and asked him to take their daughter to her room. After being placed in her bed, completely tucked in. A moment later she woke up screaming, instantly catching her mother and father's attention. They both rushed back to her room worried. "What's wrong? Are you okay?" They asked. There was intense pain throughout her entire body, tears streaming down her pale face. "Rayne, sweetheart. What's wrong." Her mother asked. Rayne's mother sat on the side of the bed, placing her hand on her child's cheek. Her thumb softly caressing her face and wiping away her tears. She opened her eyes to witness the same black silhouette from before. It did nothing but stare at her while she laid in clear agony. "What do you want from me!" she shouted, slapping her mother's hand away. She now sat up in her bed crying and screaming out for help. Her parents were worried and wanted to help their child. However, they wanted to be careful. "It was just a nightmare, carino." her father said, walking over and placing his hand on her head. "Calmate."

This whole time Rayne remained quiet. She shut her eyes and opened them again, the silhouette was now gone. At this point, it felt safe enough to assume she wasn't dreaming. she had seen the same thing one too many times to play it off as a dream. However, at this moment she did exactly the opposite of what her gut told her. It was a dream, it had to be. After all, she was watching a horror movie by herself, at night. Rayne sighed deeply, It had been a long and strange day. "I'm fine, just go away," she said, laying on her back, gazing up at the ceiling. She sighs more and proceeded to look. There was a lot on her mind but all she wanted was to get some sleep. Which after a while she finally got, Rayne fell asleep thirty minutes later and rested soundly.
