Evangeline called his number one more time, knowing full well that he wouldn't pick up.
It was stupid to even imagine the possibility, seeing as she could hear the phone ringing in the other room.Samuel had passed away 6 months ago after what the officials had called a "failed suicide attempt". In the end it had worked hadn't it? Wasn't it a success after all? Of course it was; He had succeeded in killing her as well. Everyday she wished she could take back every mean thing she had ever said to him, every time he had felt bad about something he couldn't control and apologized, she thought "COME BACK HERE AND APOLOGIZE FOR THIS YOU SORRY FUCKER!" but no amount of yelling would bring back her Sam and she knew it.
If she could go back to where it all started, she would have told him. She would have spilled her guts to him. Instead she did so in a letter she put in his casket.
"Sammy,
I've been in love with you for a while too...I just wish you would have told me before you had done this... Finding out you were dead, but also in love with me all at once just made me want to go ahead and join you. This hurts so freakin bad. I'll forgive you, but you owe me. You fucking OWE me a favor.
I love you as well.
Your Lina."
She had found his suicide note to her in his messenger bag a few days before he died.
He had explained everything. His plan, his crush on her, he had apologized 12 times.
It broke her.
