Briar watched as Greyson pushed through the crowd and made his way up to the stage. Her entire body was on fire. Partially from the tequila and partially from something driving her insane about him. She felt the need to be defiant even though she didn't know why. She just loved having his eyes on her body and seeing what it did to him made her feel good. A little nobody drove someone like him wild... no, it was the soul fact that it drove specifically him, wild.

Greyson leaned over to the DJ and whispered in his ear and walked over to the mic.

"I uh, wasn't prepared for this," he chuckled nervously, "but this is for the woman that has my heart," Greyson finished those last words with his eyes right on Briar. The crowd hooped and clapped and some whistled as the music began. She felt her face burn. Jane-Anne pinched her side and Briar shot her a glare. This was now humiliating. The song on the screen was called "Porch Swing Angel," by a band named Muscadine Bloodlines. Briar had heard some of their music before, but never this song. Her stomach became fluttery as he took a breath and the words left his lips like a lullaby to her soul.

Greyson's voice filled the room. To everyone else, they heard the melody of his words. Briar though heard every word without the music. Her heart raced as tears stung at her eyes.

"Wanna tell her how I feel,
I dont wanna scare her away,"

Briar swallowed feeling a tear slip down her face. Everything in the room faded, it became just him, singing to her and it made her heart constrict.

"I'm tired of hanging on this limb,
Cause I can't find the right words to say-"

He couldn't mean any of that. It was just a song. A silly... karaoke song. His eyes closed for a moment, but then when they opened, they were right on her. As if that band had wrote that song just for the two of them. Briar's chin trembled. How could she feel this way after only two weeks of knowing him? Could it be that quick?

Everything about meeting Greyson had been like they had known each other from the start. She felt like it had all be a dream, she knew that eventually she would have to wake up from it. This couldn't be real, things like this didn't happen to people like her. Bad followed, not someone as amazing as him. He was mesmerizing, singing and carrying the crowd along with him. She was never a fan, but listening to him, raw, beautiful, and not held back...

The music finished and the crowd roared for him. Briar stood up and grabbed her wallet. She kissed Jane-Anne without another word and left. She had to get out of there, she was drunk, and things didn't work like that. She couldn't let her walls down. She couldn't let him in her heart anymore than he already somehow dug his way into. Briar felt tears hit her cheeks as she walked out into the night. She started for the hotel next door, digging through her wallet for the key, causing everything to fall out. She stared at it for a moment before the threw the entire wallet down and fell on her knees to pick it up with shaky hands.

She noticed someone kneel down in front of her. She looked up and noticed Greyson. She huffed a laugh and shook her head.

"Of course, it's you," she sniffled and started to pick up her things. Greyson helped and then helped her off the ground. The tears wouldn't stop falling no matter how hard she tried. She was so sick of crying for no stupid reason.

"Please, stop crying," Greyson said with a pained look in his eyes. He reached out and wiped away her tears.

"I'm not. I have dirt in my eyes," she said way to drunkenly. Greyson laughed.

"Right, and I'm a banker," he chuckled.

"You could be, this whole singing thing... I bet it's a big ol rouse," she pointed at his face.
