Rose's words kept repeating in my head.
"Do something...do something...do something..."
They echoed, taunting me, reminding me that I had done nothing to stand up for myself. I had let things happen, let Nadia play her games while I sat back, thinking love alone was enough. But Rose was right. It was time to fight back.
Two can play this game, Nadia. Two can play.
When Harry walked through the door, his arms were around me in an instant, pulling me in for a deep kiss.
"Hey, baby! I missed you so much... how have you been?" His wide smile made my heart skip a beat.
"Never better..." I answered smoothly, my plan already in motion.
His eyebrows raised. "You seem excited, love. What's up?"
I ran my fingers through his soft curls, trailing kisses along his jawline.
"Nothing... I'm just thrilled to see you. What? A girl can't be happy to see her boyfriend whom she hasn't seen in two days?"
"You're thrilled to see me, love?" He smirked, satisfied.
"Ecstatic."
"I love the sound of that." His arms tightened around me. "So, I'm heading to see the baby now. You go get ready for dinner tonight—I'm taking you out."
I hesitated for just a second, then made my move. "Actually... I have a favour to ask you, baby."
"Sure... whatever. Name it." He said it so easily.
I looked up at him, feigning innocence. "Can I come with you?"
He froze.
"What? You said you didn't want to go just yet?" He studied my face, trying to figure me out.
I laced our fingers together, planting a lingering kiss on his lips. "It's been four months, Harry. I haven't seen him, except in photos. He's a part of you, and I'd really like to meet him. Do you think she'd mind?"
His hesitation was clear.
"I could always ask..." he finally said.
He pulled his phone from his pocket while I casually took his bag to my room, leaving him to type out the message. My heart pounded in anticipation. I knew what I was doing.
"Are you sure about this, love?" he called out.
"Positive."
A few minutes later, his phone beeped, and he read the text, a grin spreading across his face.
"Okay, it's settled then, baby. Get your jacket... You're meeting Antony Styles in a while." His eyes shone with pride.
"Really? She didn't say no?"
"I might have... tricked her a bit." He showed me the message thread.
Hi! Is it okay if I bring a friend with me to see our son?
Yes, I guess it's okay. They can come. What time?
We're coming in 15 minutes. Thanks.
I laughed. "Harry, 'a friend'? She thinks you're bringing Pete or something."
"Did I say that? No. She assumed. And you are my friend, aren't you, baby? Actually, you're my best friend. And if you don't get your jacket right now, I will start something else that might make us late..." He smirked, arms circling me again.
