'There is no limit to the power of loving.'-John Morton
5 years later...
"And that's how you block a forward tackle."
Summer instructed her pack as they nodded and followed her. Four years ago she joined the Silver Moon Pack and she was happy with the progress that she had they had made...both her and her daughter. Her new Alpha Chase Logan along with his Luna Lilly Logan became her backbone. They took her in and supported her throughout her pregnancy. Never once did they make her think that having her daughter was a wrong decision. They had adopted her into the pack and given her a family and a home. Summer found herself on their lands and after explaining her circumstances the Alpha and his Beta Charles decided that she could join starting at the bottom of the pack. Very soon she worked her way up the ranks until she was now the Gamma of the pack. Summer watched as the pack applied her technique to their sparring match, a technique that gave them victory against a neighboring hostile pack.
"Okay, twenty laps around the field."
Summer said as she watched them groan
"How many times do I have to tell you..."
She started but the pack interrupted.
"Your wolf is only as strong as your human."
They all rehearsed this phrase as Summer smiled.
"For those who haven't shifted as yet, you will go only 10 laps."
She amended as all those who haven't shifted sighed in relief. Then she heard one of the snotty bitches of the pack make a snide comment.
"I'm not doing that. I don't need to listen to you."
Rebecca said as she smiled at her. This angered Beta Malcolm and he stalked over to her.
"Malcolm"
Summer said softly as Malcolm diverted his attention to her.
"I'll deal with this."
Summer said as she walked over to Rebecca and stopped in front of her.
"So, you think you are strong enough huh? The big bad she-wolf. Well then, if you can spar with me and beat me I will never ask you to practice again."
Summer said as Rebecca smirked.
"To make it fair, I'll spar as a human and you as a wolf."
Summer said as Rebecca laughed.
"Are you serious? Do you want to die?"
Rebecca scoffed as Summer smirked.
"Well then, I reckon you got nothing to lose then. "
Summer said as Rebecca shifted into her light tan wolf. The others formed a circle around them giving them space to battle.
"The aim is to disarm not injure."
Beta Malcolm reminded them as both girls nodded
"Begin"
He yelled and they started to circle each other. Rebecca being as impatient as she was made the first strike, but Summer was agile and easily moved out of the way. Then they squared off at opposite ends and Rebecca made a second attempt leaving her shin exposed. Summer easily sidestepped and kicked her shin. Taken aback and surprised, Rebecca, got up and lunged at Summer as Summer bitting her side. Beta Malcolm rushed to stop the fight but Summer held up her hand to stop him.
"No, don't intervene. It was time to show this bitch why I am Gamma."
Summer said as she held her side.
"I think you would have given up around. You know every pack has a weakness. I just never thought that ours would be our Gamma, our third in command"
Rebecca snarled as Summer saw red. A weakness, that's all her old pack. This b*tch just signed her death certificate and doesn't even know it. Rebecca lunged at Summer again but this time, Summer anticipated it. Using her Gamma strength she knocked her head against a rock on the ground.
"I am not weak."
Summer said as she walked away from Rebecca. She was knocked out cold.
"Mom, you kicked ass".
Her daughter said. At three and a half years old she was mature for her age. Being around the adults of the pack, her language skill was way above average. Coupled with the fact that she was an Alpha's daughter.
"Essence, where did you learn that word from?"
Summer asked as Essence looked down shyly
"Grandpa Malcolm."
Essence said as I narrowed my eyes at my adopted father to show my displeasure.
"Well, that is a grown-up word and you'll do well not to repeat it, young lady."
Summer said as Essence hung her head in shame.
"Shouldn't you be with your Aunt Lilly?"
Summer asked her as Essence bent her head low.
"It's boring with Aunt Lilly. I want to fight like you. After all, I'm a Gamma's daughter."
Essence said as Summer looked at her dumbfounded. She was also an Alpha's daughter. Not that anyone here knew about her true paternity. That's one of the best things that she loved about her new Alpha, he respected her privacy. He doesn't pry into her past. He could tell it was particularly painful but he never forced her to reveal Essence's parentage.
"How old are you again because you must be 3 going on 30."
Summer joked as Essence giggled.
"So Grandpa Malcolm, I'm old enough to train aren't I?"
Essence said as Beta Malcolm sighed
"You know, it's not a bad idea. If we ever got attacked it would be good if she wasn't completely defenseless. "
Beta Malcolm said as that gave him an idea
"All children less than 13 years of age, please report to the training ground. "
Summer yelled as she walked towards her Alpha and Luna.
"Alpha Logan, Luna Lilly with your approval I would like to start junior training for all children old enough to hold a weapon. I believe them being able to hold their will aid in battle."
Summer said smiling
"Who's idea was this?"
Alpha Logan asked as Summer smiled.
"It was Essence Evans, a Gamma's daughter."
Summer said as Essence looked at her mother and smiled.
"When I grow up, will I be able to fight like you?"
Essence asked as Summer took her into her arms
"Hopefully you won't have to. I fight now to protect you. I hope that in the future, there will be no fights, no rouges, and that all wolves can live together in harmony."
Summer said as Essence thought to herself.
"I would very much like that dream mama."
