MARINA
“I told you not to combine those two colors! See? Her skin looks like a poop,” reklamo niya bago agawin sa aking kamay ang paintbrush na hawak ko.
I glance at her while chuckling. “I was just trying to prove you wrong,” natatawang usal ko. “But I guess I was the wrong one.”
She nods with a disgusted face. “I was never wrong, Marina.”
“Fuck you, Nadia.” I grab the brush from her hand and draw a circle on the tip of her nose.
I press my hands tightly while taking a long and shivering breath. “God, I miss you so badly, Nadia,” atungal ko habang itinatago ang aking naluluhang mga mata sa harap ng kisame gamit ang aking maninipis na mga kamay.
It's been over years and I still haven't forgotten your death.
Not that I'm planning to forget you, but the pain of losing you have caused to me. Kahit 'yung sakit at bigat man lang sana 'yung mawala. Kasi hanggang ngayon, nagdadalamhati pa rin ako.
My pain over losing you never subsided. And I will never be fine. Not until I imprison the person who did that brutality to you.
Hinila ko pataas ang puting kumot upang takpan ang aking naluluhang mukha. If you're only here, and you see me crying, I'm certain that you would crawl up on the bed and share the anxiety with me.
You always want to take part of something, even my pain.
And I'm forever thankful for that. I'll never forget the person who made me feel like my problems are halfway solved whenever she was near. That's what your effect was to me.
Nadia was—and will always be my only best friend.
My phone dings, and I can't help but to roll my eyes and raise my left hand upward to reach it on the table.
Another ding.
“Okay, okay, wait. You fucking asshole,” I mumble before grabbing my phone on the surface.
Pagbukas ko nito ay tumambad sa akin ang dalawang message ni Aki. Sino pa ba bukod sa kaniya? Ni wala ngang ibang gustong kumausap sa 'kin, eh.
Hey, good morning, Marina, maganda, the message reads.
I swipe up to see the next one. And it's a video. This is the first clip that he's going to send me for today. I know there's a lot more to come.
