FALLING

A guy who always comes bruised to school but smiles and laughs regardless, is considered an idiot and extremly messy
He has not outstanding grades, both, good and bad ones, but one couldn't call him stupid. Everytime he got a new bruise, he would be asked why. But he laughs it off and says things like "I missed it" or "I fell down", without further explanation. Everyone assumed he just missed a step and fell down the stairs, as he was said to be clumsy. In the beginning, the teachers worried about him, thinking in his house was domestic violence or child abuse, but the family was really kind and also clueless where he got the wounds, since he rarely was home. The delinquents thought he was a thug and always gets into fights, but he was too sociable and weak hearted to hurt other, also his strength was even less then average. So they thought, maybe he's just dumb?

One day, the second in the guy's neighboring class went back home from cram school and saw him. He stood on the rooftop of an office building. His eyes widened, as his senses played in slow motion: the freak of the class next door jumped. Without realizing it he already started to run, but eventually lost sight of him in the crowd that pushed him back. When he arrived, the guy had disappeared.

The next day, he saw in school, new bandaids all over. He froze for a second, when he heard the excuses everyone already was used to.

He fell. From the rooftop
He missed it. His escape from reality and ticket to death
