Deathbringer's POV
I stalked Glory as she headed back to the academy with her friends. This was my mission. To kill her, Tsunami, and anyone who didn't comply. I have been watching them since the first day the school was opened, and I was only waiting for all of them to be alone. Which they never were. Until now. I had to look around to finally realize that students were no longer with them. Qibli is probably off trying to comfort that reporter that fell from the sky, I observed. Kinkajou must be with Turtle, Fatespeaker is probably crying about Starflight, Riptide is probably visiting his family, and Peril must be training extra hard.
So...I really had them alone. I can strike. I lingered where I was situated, it would be such as shame to kill such a beautiful girl. Glory I mean. Not Tsunami. Although, she isn't that bad. I shook my head. Focus, Deathbringer, Glory is a target. Not a lover. Besides, you already have a girlfriend. No matter how much I hate her.
Maybe I should've waited for them to be separated. Well, it's too late. But before I could pounce, I heard Glory told the others, "I'll see you guys later. I...want to be alone for a bit."
"Okay," Clay said, giving Glory a hug. "See you later."
"Bye," Sunny said. With that, they left her to be alone. Stupid mistake. Glory looked at the trees (Where I was at) then walked toward the beach. I followed her, both out of curiosity and for the mission. When she was out of sight, I jumped out of my hiding spot and searched around for the beautiful girl.
Suddenly, I felt someone push me down. I let out a humpf and tumbled down. But, I didn't land on the sand, instead, with swift movements, I pushed my attacker down and held a knife to their throat. "Who are you?" Glory hissed.
I let out a relieved breath when I saw that it was her. "Well, that's for me to know and for you to not find out," I smirked.
"Is that so?" she frowned.
"What about you?" I asked. I had to make sure that I didn't look to weird. "What's your name?"
"Oof. That's for me to know and for you to not find out," she snapped. Without me allowing it, I let out a laugh. "If you would kindly lift your body off me and take that knife away from my throat, I would like it very much," Glory continued.
"I don't know," I grinned. "What if you suddenly attack me while I'm not looking?"
"You're the one with knife," scoffed Glory.
"Fair point," I muttered. I let go of my grip and walked over to the ocean. "You look distant," I observed. "You okay?"
"Why would I tell you, mystery man?" Glory hissed. "If you won't tell me your name, I won't tell you my feelings." I shrugged and continued to stare at the ocean. If only Glory knew what I was supposed to do. If only I didn't feel this...giddy toward her. I never felt...this before. But that reminded me of the promise I made. I would never put my missions before love. Did I love Glory? So was I supposed to continue the mission? No. Because I was falling in love with Glory. "Well, I have to go," she suddenly said. She turned around and started to walk away.
Before she could go anywhere, I grabbed her hand and pulled her closer. She gave me a dirty look but didn't do anything. "Will I see you again?" I smirked.
"Probably not. And it's my business, not yours," she grinned. Glory wiggled out of my grasp and continued to walk away.
"Would you come to meet me at a tavern, if I told you my name?" I wondered.
"Nope!" she called.
I smirked and shook my head. "I'll tell you anyways!" Glory wavered in her steps but listened. "My name is Deathbringer!" Then she was gone.
