A few days after that the Lantern rite event was right around the corner. I'm going to ask Xiao if he wants to go with me :D.. he doesn't like crowded places though hopefully he'll say yes

Day of lantern rite________

Aether and Xiao stayed in most of the day cuddling and what not, being clueless lovers. little do they know what events are coming ahead..

the lantern rite should start in about 2 hours... "Hey Xiao? I'm going to take a shower rq okay?" Xiao was half asleep "mh" I got up to shower grabbing the clothes I was gonna wear to the Lantern rite and a towel and headed to the bathroom.

After showering there was about 1 hour and 15 minutes till it started. I had to wake up Xiao soon mind as well do it now. I walked out and saw Xiao laying there, so cutely <33
"Xiaoooooo it's time to wake up" "5 more minutes..." "Cmon Xiao! U promised u would go to the Lantern rite with me >:(" "*sigh* fine your right" Xiao got dressed and did what he needed, it was about 50 minutes till it was time to go.

We started to get there early so we could get a good spot where nobody would be since Xiao wasn't a fan of crouds "eh aether?" "Yes??" "Are we almost there?" I had a idea of where I wanted us to sit I brought a small picnic blanket and that's it, just to sit on "yes just a bit longer" "Kay" we found a nice spot under some trees, there were only a few people around but they were far enough for us. Ningguang talked for a bit until the lanterns starting flowing into the sky. I herd some rumbling in the bushes behind us, I assumed it was just more people or animal's.. how wrong was I as the lanterns stopped and people left me and Xiao where still there watching the stars together, something stabed me in my back..?

As me and Xiao were watching the stars quietly I herd some movement behind us a few seconds later I herd a scream from aether and he had..? A sword in his back!! FUCKING FATUI!! I could tell aether was in pain as I tried to protect him from the fatui members going after my precious and fragile boyfriend. I used my mask and got down 2 before I started to feel the karma.. I can't lose aether because of this..

Aether pov

My back hurt so badly as Xiao protected me from the back I could hear him killing fatui member after fatui member.. the pain of my back I couldn't take it.. I passed out cold

almost done... Oh more great, wait AETHER!! He was laying down looking lifeless with the sword still in his back "no... aether please stay with me please don't die on me love.." I was about done with these fatui members always messing shit up it's getting in my last nerve I can't do anything knowing aether is hurt... Please be okay I finished off the rest to see aether was still passes out cold but was being attacked by some purple chick! "HEY GET OFF HIM!!" I killed her and helped aether he was in even worse condition as I put him on my back and ran to bubu pharmacy luckily Baizu was there
"Baizu!! Please help him.." "oh my! Yes but just know it will cost a pretty mora" "IDC JUST HELP HIM!! HURRY!"

2 hours later..

"He's in critical condition... If you want I can give him these meds but there gonna be 50k mora each and he needs 4.. "ok.." I felt like I had no reason to live anymore. If aether died it would be the end of me, the last straw, the like nerve, the last day.
