It was that dreadful day, yet I had a plan. A wonderfully perfect plan, genius even.

It was like any other mornings, except I was dressed more properly by the maids.

"Agh! Not so tight." I mumbled as one of the maids tightened my corset.

"Sorry," she said, sheepishly before trying it over again. I could tell she was new based on the fact that I've never seen her before. Or maybe I've been spending too much time in the garden.

I sighed. Why did I agree to this again?

The carriage rattles before stopping to a halt. The door swung opened by the butler. As I stepped out, I thanked him. He bowed curtly, muttering a rushed 'of course, your highness'.

While I waited for my father's carriage(I requested an extra carriage), I took this chance to look around. The castle looms over the town. It was large, much larger than my father's castle. I bit the inside of my cheek, feeling a bit intimidate by its size. The rumors must be true. The kingdom of Vendelheim was better off than my father's kingdom.

I hope that my plan goes well.

I suddenly heard horses galloping our way. Oh, father must be here already! I smiled.

As soon as my father got out of the carriage a parade of musicians and singers walked out to perform. I hummed the lovely tune. Then the performance ended and the king stepped out with a light smile.

"Welcome," He told us.

The castles were filled with narrow passageways, large libraries, and an extravagant dining hall, along with many and many vacant rooms. I couldn't help but be in awed at every single thing. No, focus on the plan, Monique.

"Where should I stay?" I questioned the maid who was showing me around. The two kings had left me to be lead by a maid to discuss something important.

I believed her to be one of the prince's personal maids(one of my maids had told me an awful lot about them). How sweet of him to sent her.

"Uh, this room should be fine."

This room is certainly large but nothing I couldn't get used to.

"Thank you."

"Of course." She smiled which shows a hint of bitterness. As soon as she left, I rolled my eyes. It wasn't my plan to be roped into this. She could get the prince for all I care.

I sunk into the bed, sighing. This couldn't get any harder, could it?
