Summary: Lapis has PTSD from being trapped in the mirror and uses littlespace as a coping mechanism but keeps it a secret...until Peridot finds out.

Also I headcannon Peridot as agender with they/them pronouns!

Lapis's little age is 2 to 4!

Lapis sat in her room, putting on a dolphin onesie and fluffy blue socks. A bottle of milk was in one hand. In the other, was a teddy bear. She had a blue pacifier in her mouth, sucking on it happily.

She had PTSD from all that time being trapped in the mirror and often suffered from crippling panic attacks, flashbacks and nightmares that left her crying and terrified. It was just terrible...

But, Lapis has recently discovered age regression, and it helped her greatly. When in littlespace, Lapis felt happy, safe and comfortable. As long as no one found out...

Lapis sighed happily, cuddling into the blankets and pillows around her. Peridot wasn't here at the moment and wasn't supposed to be back for hours. They were with the gems and Steven.

She drank her milk from the bottle and licked her lips. Technically, gems didn't need food or drink, but Lapis enjoyed a bottle of cold, sweet, refreshing milk.

Suddenly, the door opened and Lapis froze. Peridot walked in. The green dorito gem blinked in confusion and surprise. "What are you doing?" They asked in shock.

Lapis gulped, almost too shocked to speak. Her face reddened. "I-I...um..." She trailed off and started crying out of overwhelming embarrassment, sobbing into the blanket.

Peridot's eyes widened as they immediately hugged the upset gem, managing to rock her gently, even though they were shorter than her. They were not quite sure what to do, having not being used to emotions.

But, Peridot rocked Lapis as best as they could and shushed her in a soft tone. "Hey, hey...it's alright, hush now...you're safe here..." They did their best to comfort her.

Eventually, Lapis calmed down and her sobs were reduced to whimpers. "It's okay..." Peridot repeated, stroking her hair. "I...I know, I'm s-sorry..." Lapis sighed.

Peridot hugged her closer. "There's no need apologize..." They continued rocking her, rubbing her back soothingly. They didn't have much experience with comforting people and felt a little awkward.

Lapis took a deep breath. "To answer your question...I was age regressing, in littlespace..." She blushed shyly. Peridot hummed. "What's that?" They asked in surprise. "This room isn't that little."

Lapis took another deep breath. "It's when I  act younger, slip into a younger mindset...as a child, baby or toddler...it helps me cope with my Post Traumatic Stress Disorder..."

Peridot frowned. "L-Lapis...I had no idea you were struggling so much..." They looked up at her. "I didn't wanna worry you, besides, littlespace helps me..."

Lapis explained what had happened in the mirror and what she had been feeling since then. Peridot hugged her tightly, feeling horrible for not realizing sooner. They both had tears running down their faces.

They hugged each other tightly. "I'm sorry...I know this is weird but...it really helps me..." Lapis looked down. Peridot hugged her. "It's not weird, I understand...I want you to feel safe and happy..." They smiled a bit.

Lapis's eyes lit up. "S-So you're okay with it...?" Peridot nodded. "Of course..." They cuddled her closer to them as Lapis grinned and cuddled against their chest happily.

Soon, Lapis had slipped back into littlespace and was sucking on her pacifier, with her teddy bear in her hand. She was cuddled up into Peridot's lap as they were stroking her hair with a small smile.

Peridot hugged her close. "You're adorable like this..." Lapis cooed. "Tank woo Dot..." Peridot awed and nuzzled her gently while holding her close and protectively. Lapis giggled, sounding sweet and happy.

They smiled and fed her a bottle of milk, stroking her head as they fed her. Lapis laid in their lap, enjoying the milk. Once she finished, she wanted cuddles and love.

Peridot noticed and took her into bed with them. There were lots of blankets, pillows and plushies so it was nice and cozy for little Lapis. She sighed contently and cuddled into them with big adorable eyes.

Peridot chuckled and held her in their lap. They kissed her cheeks, forehead and nose lightly which made Lapis giggle more as her eyes lit up with happiness and joy. Peridot had never seen her that happy.

Lapis looked down at them. "I wuv you so much..." She babbled a bit as Peridot awed and nuzzled her affectionately. "I love you more, my little Lapis...you're safe here..."

"You're safe..."
