"I fell in love with you," Matt replies. "You're so perfect, Nash. I just... want you. I tried so hard to resist it but I couldn't do it anymore."
Nash stares at Matthew with wide eyes and he's so upset he doesn't even know what to say. He can't believe that Matthew would want Nash to do Cameron what Carter did to him.
"Nash?" Matthew asks softly, he searches Nash's eyes and all he sees is anger and betrayal. He starts to realize that there's no way Nash has feelings for him, he's completely devoted to Cameron. But his soft, plump lips felt so good against his, he wonders what it would feel like if Nash had actually kissed him back.
"You need to leave," Nash says his voice trembles and he looks down at the ground.
"Nash, no please. I'm sorry, I swear I don't do it again." Matt pleads and he starts to panic, he didn't imagine that this would be Nash's reaction. He needs Nash in his life even if it's just as a best friend.
"You need to leave, Matthew." Nash repeats firmly, Matt takes a step towards him and Nash automatically steps back. His face falls because Nash doesn't trust him anymore, he's ruined their beautiful friendship.
"Please Nash it was a mistake. I promise you, I won't try to kiss you again, we can be friends. I'm happy with that," he's practically begging now, his eyes get watery as he contemplates a life without Nash, he's grown so attached to him.
"Please, just go. I need to talk to Cameron when he gets home. There's no way I'm jeopardizing my marriage for you, Cameron is the love of my life and I'm happy with him. Maybe we can still be friends later on but for now you need to leave," Nash says and Matt hangs his head sadly.
"You don't have to tell him, we can keep it between the two of us," Matt says, he's grasping at straws.
Nash immediately shakes his head. "No, I can't do that. I can't keep that from my husband. I don't know what kind of dysfunctional marriage you had with your ex, but there's no way I'd ever keep this from Cameron."
Nash's words cut him deeply and he blinks back tears as he gathers his and Adrian's things. He leaves with his child, he doesn't know if he'll ever see Nash again and that's the only thing that makes him regret what he did.
Nash runs a shaky hand through his hair and he knows Cameron won't react well at all, he knows that Cameron will forbid him from seeing Matthew ever again. He lied to Matt when he said that maybe they could be friends in the future, he knows he'll never be able to be friends with him again. He mourns the death of their friendship and wishes he could have made it clear to Matthew that he would never cheat on Cameron.
Nash is nervous for the rest of the day, he can't concentrate on anything, he doesn't even make dinner because he's so distracted by what happened earlier that day. As it gets closer to the time when Cameron gets home Nash is sitting in the living room and his babies are napping in the playpen. As soon as Cameron enters the house and sees Nash sitting down in the living room he knows something's really wrong.
Nash looks up at him with red eyes and he sits down next to him and takes him onto his lap.
"Baby, what's wrong?" He asks worriedly as Nash buries his head in his neck.
"I have to tell you something and I know it's going to make you so angry and I'm scared," Nash mumbles into his neck.
"Baby, whatever it is. You know me, we'll talk about it and work through it together," Cameron tries to soothe Nash but Nash shakes his head because he knows this is different.
"Matt was over today with Adrian, we went swimming with the kids and afterwards I was making snacks for them," Nash starts talking softly and Cameron rubs his back gently as he listens intently.
