Only Temporary

Hey guys this is just a little bit about the story before we start it!! Also, it will be switching povs every chapter

Y/n has telekinesis and plant control powers but how she got them is unknown to anyone but her and Nick Fury. She also has a dark past that she tries to not let haunt and interfere with her life but it's hard for her to hide it. Nick Fury is like a father figure to her and they have a very special connection. (Idk what else to write imma just figure the rest out as we go lol) ALSO, the story takes place after Age of Ultron but before all the Civil War shit went down!

Y/ns POV 

"It's only for your safety Y/n and it's just temporary," Nick says as we approach the Avengers compound and we start to land on the helipad

"I know I know I just don't think I am Avenger material," I say with a sigh. I know he's doing this because he cares but it also feels kind of like I'm being babysat 

"You took down 6 of my best men in training without any help I know your Avengers material," he says as the helicopter lands and we step out together to be greeted by Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and a kid who looks about in high school. I worked with Steve on a mission before and I have been to a few of Tony's iconic party's but nothing much other than that haven't met any of the other Avengers. 

"Long time no see," Steve says with a smirk and we shake hands "Excited to have you"

"Excited to be here," I say before turning to Tony and we shake hands "Who is this?" I ask as I gesture to the boy

"Oh hi I'm Peter Parker Mr.Stark wanted me to come greet you because I am also like a new Avenger I guess," he says with a smile. He seems bright and happy

"I said new recruit you're not an official Avenger like Y/n," Tony says as he puts his hand on Peters's shoulders and I hear him do a little sigh.

"Well um I'm gonna go grab my bags for the helicopter," I say as I head back and grab 2 large duffle bags and a backpack

"Kid go help her," Tony says as he pushes Peter towards me and her grabs both my duffle bags "Okay let's go inside and get you set up," Tony says and we all nod and follow him inside 

The compound is huge. It's much bigger than the old Avengers tower even though that place was still huge. 

"So Ms. Y/n what powers do you have?" Peter asks as we walk behind everyone 

"Oh, I have Plant Control and Telekinesis! And you don't have to call my Ms. Peter just call me Y/n" 

"Got it. So your powers are like Poison Ivy from DC comics!" He says excitedly

"I guess," I say laughing 

We get to my room and Peter throws my bags on my bed. The room is pretty bland but Steve talked to me about decorating it when I am settled in. After I see my room Tony rushes back to his lab in a hurry, Peter goes back home to his Aunt May that he talked about so it was just me and Steve left. He decided that we should take a tour of the place

After the tour, we head back to the kitchen and living area so I can meet all the avengers but as we are walking through the hall there's one door he hasn't shown me.

"What's this door go to?" I ask I I walk up to it

"Oh, that's just the door to the roof. The ladder this rusty and broken though but looking up at the stars at night is pretty amazing" he says "Come on they are waiting"

He puts his hand on my shoulder and leads me into the living area where I see a few different Avengers and Tony

"There's the newbie," A man says as he gets up and puts me into a kind hug that throws me of guard but it feels welcoming 

"That would be Sam," Steve says "And that is Natasha we call her Nat. That's Wanda shes also kinda new. That's Vision yes he is a robot. That's  Clint, he claims he's retired but never leaves And that's Rhodey he's like Tony's left-hand man." Steve says as we sit down

"Hey guys I'm Y/n," I say as I sit down next to sam "Happy to be here," I say that but I know it's a lie I just want to be back on the field working with SHEILD.

"So how long are you gonna be working with us?" Wanda asks before she takes a sip of her drink

"Oh it only temporary," I say "I'm sure being I am going to love being here and being an Avenger but SHEILD is just more my type of work"

they all nod and smile in an understanding way which makes me feel a little more welcomed. After having a few drinks we all decide we were going to head to our room and get some sleep since we have a team training session tomorrow morning. They say it can really be difficult on your body and you wanna get a good sleep the night before. All of our rooms are in the same sleeping hall so we continue with our conversations as we make our way to the rooms. I have mostly connected with Sam since we have the most in common but I think Wanda is pretty cool and our rooms are right next to each other. 

We all wrap up our conversations and say goodnight before heading into our rooms. My room is bland and boring the bedding is a light grey with white pillows and creme-colored walls there are 2 paintings hung up but I find them ugly and they just look kinda off in the room so I take them down and place them in the closet. But just as I start to place my clothes in the dresser I hear a knock at my door. So I go to open it and I find Steve with a chocolate bar in his hand.

"Can I come in?" he asks. I nod and we sit on my bed "How are you feeling about this change?"

I appreciate the fact that he is trying "It's different but I think it will be good for me" 

"That's good! You know when I became unfrozen and joined society again these chocolate bars helped me a lot" he says with a laugh and hands me the bar "I thought it might make you feel better about being here. Fury told me about how you didn't want to come"

"Oh well I am glad to be here now," I say trying to convince myself but I know I am lying this isn't the place I want to be. I want to be working with SHIELD "I was just nervous"

He places his hang on my shoulder but takes it off soon "Did you take the paintings down?" he asks 

"Oh yeah they were hideous" I exclaim

"I painted those," he says in a shocked tone 

'Hideous in a good way" I say and we both laugh.

After talking for a little while be goes to bed and I go back to unpacking my clothes. It doesn't take long until I am half asleep so I change into some sweats and a tank top jump into bed and I tell myself I will finish unpacking tomorrow before turning off the lights.
