(The Gray Garden x Haikyuu)
Kageyama remembers her past life very clearly. Angels, demons, magic, other worlds, a war with the Flame World... Yeah, how can she forget all of that pain? The pain of losing the ones she loves, and then waking up as a b...
The two walked out of the house, glancing at the bright blue sky. Well, more like Kageyama walked out with Kurai on her head. But that didn't matter. The setter had a feeling that today would be a good day. She glanced at the clouds. One of them looked like a crow. At first, she thought of Kurai. But then, the raven frowned, remembering Karasuno. She then shook her head. No, she did not want to think of them. Not today. She was supposed to relax. Not get emotionally stressed. Kurai squawked, demanding food. She sweatdropped. "I will give you food, calm down." she told him. He flapped his wings, content with the answer. 'Jeez, he's just like a child.' she thought. The whole walk she felt people's stares. I mean, she couldn't blame them. She had an actual crow on her head. She finally arrived at the small coffee shop near her house.
"Kageyama?" she heard the voice of Moniwa, the old captain and setter of Date Tech. She looked at him in surprise. She wasn't expecting him to be here.
"Moniwa-san. It's been a while." she greeted. She hadn't seen him since the Interhigh, which lead her to believe that he retired, unlike Karasuno's third years. She also thinks that Oikawa and Iwaizumi wouldn't retire neither. They are very determined to win against Shiratorizawa, after all. But right now, Karasuno could take that chance away. Although, she highly doubted that.
"Yeah, ever since the Interhigh match, it's been a while... I must admit, your sets were really amazing." he praised her with a warm smile. Her cheeks flared up at the compliment. She wasn't used to it. At least, not now. Now that she had been all alone, except for Kurai, she was so embarrassed to receive a praise or compliment.
"T-Thank you... Although you were really cool too... Being able to motivate and cheer up your team like that... Wish I could that with my team..." she trailed off. Moniwa smiled, thankful for the compliment, not noticing the hateful tone in the word 'team'. Of course, it wasn't public that Karasuno kicked her out. And as she thought with Ushijima, she planned on the news staying in the dark shadows.
"Anyways, what would you like to order?" he asked, grabbing a notepad. The setter took a look at the menu. There was a large variety of things to pick.
"A coffee with milk and two sugars please, as well as some cookies." she ordered "And my friend here would want some blueberry tarts." she added, pointing to Kurai, who raised one of his wings. The old captain of Date Tech's volleyball team nodded, writing her order. Although, he had to say he was surprised. He hadn't seen a real crow before.
"I'll be back soon!" he told her, heading inside. Kurai got off of her head, landing on the other chair. Kageyama got her phone out, checking out some messages. Most of them were from the main GC, in which they were lecturing the fallen crows. She snorted, finding it quite funny. 'Never thought I'd see the day in which Sawamura would get lectured.' she thought. It was true. Sure, Asahi and Suga did get scolded from time to time, but Daichi rarely got scolded. But damn, right now he was getting his ass whooped by words. She would love to see their expressions right now. She bet they were full of guilt. And she wanted to crush them and fill them with even more guilt. Just the thought of that put a smile on her face. Kurai squawked, scared. The sound made Kageyama come to her senses. She sweatdropped, looking at the shifter.
"Sorry for that Kurai. Just... thinking of revenge." she apologized. The shifter shivered. He didn't like the sound of that. Just then, Moniwa came back with their orders. He carefully placed them on the table, scared of dropping anything.

The setter looked at the drink in awe. How did Moniwa draw that? She didn't know. But it was beautiful. "Flabbergasted, right? I tend to draw things on coffee." he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. The black haired girl took a picture of it. No wonder the coffee here was so popular.
"It's beautiful. Thank you Moniwa-san." she said, opening the small sugar packet. She slowly poured it all in the liquid, and then carefully mixed. Kurai tried to eat his tart with his beak, but he just made a hole. Kageyama sweatdropped. She started cutting the tart in small pieces so the shifter could eat it. He raised one of his wings as a 'thank you'. She smiled before starting to drink her coffee. The warm drink was quickly down to half of the cup. Glancing to Kurai, she sweatdropped when she saw that the shifter had finished.
"You sure eat a lot bud." she chuckled, taking a bite of a cookie. The crow nodded, squawking. Kageyama shook her head before finishing the cookie. She quickly drank the rest of her coffee.
"Alright. I feel a lot better now." she yawned, stretching her arms. Kurai flapped his wings, flying to the top of the setter's head. 'I'll pay Moniwa-san before I leave.' she thought, reaching in her purse for her wallet so she could pay. Moniwa was a really kind person. No wonder his team chose him as the captain. Someone who they can rely on and trust. Kageyama wished she was like that too. But she could only dream at the moment. She still had a long way until she can reach that dream. And that road starts now.
