Itadori's POV
Upon finding out about what Fushiguro had done, I made my decision. Things only seemed to get worse whenever I was around him, so the solution was simply to stay away from him.
Though.. That was much easier said than done.
"Where the hell did this outbreak of curses come from anyway?!" Kugisaki shouted, swiftly sidestepping as she eluded an attack from the curse she was currently up against.
We were in the streets of Nagoya, up against the horde of cursed spirits we had been told about. We'd been fighting here for almost three hours now, though it seemed like so much longer.
Before there was an opening for her to be targeted again, Nobara retrieved a nail from the pouch she had fastened to her side, lifting it up into the air slightly before she struck it hard with the hammer in her grasp. The impact sent the nail flying, hitting the large, monstrous looking creature right between the eyes, causing it to finally collapse onto the ground.
"Not sure! Though it might have been the presence of a special grade that created them!" Yuta called back, currently in his own battle with another curse. The monster in question was thin but very tall, resembling an insect, perhaps a praying mantis. Whatever it was, it possessed sharp blade-like hands, as the adroit special grade student clashed up against it with his katana, clenching his jaw while doing his best to counter its attacks.
Finally breaking out of the bind, he stumbled back slightly, now clutching the handle of his blade with his right hand. Suddenly, he transferred it over to his left, sprinting off in the opposite direction, leaping up to push off against the brick wall of a building with both his hand and foot. The curse followed, falling right into his trap. He clutched his sword with both hands now, the katana's steel blade pointed downwards now as he drove it down into the top of the curse's head, killing it instantly.
Meanwhile, I was dealing with my own fight, a quick, two-headed creature that I just couldn't seem to hit directly. It's reflexes were quite phenomenal to say the least. Instead of attacking me close range though, it only seemed to excel in long range attacks, as it occasionally spat clumps of some sort of corrosive, acidic liquid at me.
I froze up as one flew by my head, looking over my shoulder as I watched it hit the concrete instead of it's intended target. Slowly burning its way through the blacktop, it cause a fissure to emanate before our eyes.
"God dammit, Yuji!!" The ginger sorcerer exclaimed, holding her arms out to keep balance as the ground beneath us shifted.
"It's not my fault!" I shouted back, gasping and falling backwards as the crack in the road split apart, creating a large sinkhole. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen before.. As it formed, it swallowed up nearby objects; cars, benches.. And crazily enough, a bunch of the curses we were fighting.
Before hitting the concrete, I was caught by Yuta's arms, as he quickly helped me back up to my feet. A look of apprehension resting upon his face as he ran off, intrepidly knocking any curses he encountered into the pit that had formed.
"We have to leave!" He finally spoke up, capturing both me and Kugisaki's attention as he looked over at us.
I agreed with him.. As much as it disturbed me to leave in the middle of a battle like this, it was clear we were unprepared for this.
We did as we were told though, exchanging a nod before running to catch up with him. Along the way, we managed to dodge a couple of the cursed spirits, though one somehow managed to create a large cut on Kugisaki's side, blood starting to ooze from the wound. Before either of us could ask if she was ok, she just nodded her head, continuing to run without a problem.
