I woke up from a long night. I had graduated the air force i felt free. But i still had to dread going to school and dealing with people.

I parked my car in the student park and walked to the tree to think. I saw Yasuda sitting she looked upset.

Eli: You okay?

she remained silent.

I ended up walking to first period and sat there until class started. I saw her walk in class with her hair a mess, she looked like she's been crying. She laid her head down the entire class.

I waited till lunch to eat my snack as my energy was wearing down. The bell rang and i rushed to the tree to be alone hopefully.

I sat and closed my eyes for a bit until i heard a noise and i wake up to see Yasuda sitting next to me. She laid her head on my shoulder.

Yasuda: i'm sorry i ignored you this morning.

she sounded upset.

Eli: it's okay. i didn't want to burden. you didn't get lunch?

Yasuda: i didn't have money anyway.

Eli: Well you can have my snack.

I handed her my food.

Yasuda: Are you sure? i don't want to take your food.

Eli: it's okay. you need it more than i do.

She smiled faintly.

Yasuda: Thanks. I'll pay you back.

Eli: Don't worry about it. I have plenty of snacks.

i chuckled.

Eli: so what's wrong buddy?

Yasuda: Well.. it was suppose to be a special day but my boyfriend decided he didn't want me anymore.

Eli: Yikes. That's.. bad.

I didn't know much to say and i'm not really the one to comfort people.

Yasuda: Yeah so i'm sorry if i hurt you.

Eli: You didn't. I care for your well-being.

Yasuda: How do you do it?

Eli: huh?

Yasuda: I've seen you get bullied and heard so much rumors about you and just everyone going against you, and you don't seem to have a care in the world.

Eli: Well, if they were to walk in my shoes and experience the stuff i had to as a child then they wouldn't be talking but some will never understand. You just have to push. No matter the cost.

Yasuda: I'm sorry for intruding.

Eli: You're not, buddy.

Someone started playing music on the school speakers. Closer by The Chainsmokers was playing.

Yasuda: I hate this song. I hate everything and everyone right now.

Eli: Even me?

Yasuda: Well you i can tolerate. fuck everyone else

Eli: Need a hug buddy?

i was joking but she quickly fell into my arms and wouldn't let go. We held each other pretty much for the remainder of the song.

Yasuda: S-sorry.

she let go and looked down.

Eli: Hey, it's okay. it was nice.

I don't know how to properly compliment anything. she blushed and looks away.

Eli: Well i should get going, i have to go to my check up.

Yasuda: o-okay be safe.

I walked away but looked back to see her staring at me.

what is this feeling? it's weird.
