Chapter 13 - Accidents happen

(Morning)

Robbie's P.O.V

I get woken up by the sound of sniffling so I sit up to notice Sammy sitting hunched over her phone. Shes crying. ''Sam?? Whats wrong'' I rush to her side and then she collapses on be, into my arms leaving me confused. I have no idea how to comfort her. ''Please I can help, whats wrong'' I hug her tight to me then she finally calms a little, enough to speak. ''Daniels in hospital. Robbie hes in hospital! What should I do!'' She grips onto my shirt and in that moment a part of me feels empty, I can't speak. ''He got in a car accident'' Sammy explains in between sobbing breaths. 

''Dan...'' is all I can reply with at this moment. ''What if hes dying!'' Sammy screams into my chest, muffled by my shirt. ''No hes fine! We can go visit him, right now'' I storm up frustrated, I gather some clothes and get changed and then I force Sammy to do the same. She wears one of my jackets to go down in. ''I'm so worried'' I can see Sammy getting teary eyed again so I hug her again. ''Hey no, I am to but its going to be okay, trust me'' I kiss her on the head and then we head down to the car as fast as possible (locking the house as well). Most of the car ride all I can do is think of if Daniel is okay and what if he isn't. I feel like its my fault. Sammy hasn't smiled or sounded happy at all since she woke me, I hate seeing her that way.

When we arrive at the hospital I do all the talking and eventually we see Sammy's parents who embrace her with a hug like I did before. Her father is sobbing and her mother too. Her mum explains that Daniel has been asleep since the accident but they are going to try and wake him soon. After a while of waiting outside his room, a nurse comes out and says we can go inside but we can't stay too long. I get stopped just inch's into the room when I see Daniel tied up to wires and cables going to all sorts of machines, he has an oxygen mask around his face and wires coming out of his arms and nose. ''Daniel!'' Sammy shouts racing past me to see him. She stands by him and his staring him in the face, all he can do is smile at her. I have to stand outside. This is too much.

Sammy's P.O.V

I put my hand on Daniel's forehead. His skin is cold, not quite statue cold but cold. He looks tired and week. ''Dan..are yo-u okay'' I manage to ask without choking up. He nods with a joyful smile. My parents come shoving past me to see him, asking him questions so I just back away and take a moment to look at them. How did this even happen, why did he leave home, why can't he be okay. I turn around and notice Robbie isn't in the room anymore so I peer out of the doorway to see him with his head against the wall outside Daniel's room. 

''Robbie?'' I ask, my voice quivers. He almost instantly turns around, he has slightly dried tears down his face and then almost instantly wipes them away with his sleeve. ''Sammy, hows Daniel'' I can tell hes trying to act strong for me. ''Hes good, why arn't you inside?'' I grab his arm with a concerned look to hopefully get the truth but we are interrupted by my dad. ''Robbie, Daniel wants to speak to you in private'' then my dad and mum leave the room to allow Robbie in which was surprising to me, they'd usually be more protective. 

Robbie's P.O.V

My hands start to shake slightly, why am I so scared, hes my friend. I don't want to lose him. I get one last look at Sammy and then go into the room, shutting the door behind us. ''R-R-Robbie'' I pick up the pace after he says that almost racing to him. ''I'm here, whats up'' I try to put on a 'strong man' act so I don't tear up. ''S-Sammy's birthday is still in 5 days. If I ca-an't make it then I really want you to make it the best birthday ever. The nurse said I will be getting out in a few days but they don't guarantee for her birthday.'' Daniel coughs in between words, he looks exhausted. ''Don't worry, shes going to love it and I guarantee you'll make it'' I smile and then get told I have to leave. Visiting hours are over.

I watch Daniel close his eyes and then fall asleep just as Sammy try's to deny leaving, she doesn't want to leave him alone. ''I'm going with Robbie'' Sammy tells her parents and then grips onto my hand for comfort so I grip back. ''The nurse said he will get to go home in a few days'' I smile and raise an eyebrow trying to cheer her up but it doesn't work, I do get a smirk out of her though. ''Hey how about I go get us a milkshake?'' trying bribery to comfort her. ''Fine. Your adorable'' she looks at me with her same bright smile. 

Once I get out of the car and head into the milkshake shop, I get stopped by a fan. ''Omg! Your Robbie kay! I love your acting!'' I really don't feel in the mood to react kindly after everything thats happened but I try, I don't want to upset this girl for no reason. She doesn't look much older than Sammy but she isn't as beautiful as Sammy. No girl is. ''Hey. Thanks so much, means a lot to me'' I smile which makes her blush and then she asks me to do the famous 'Peter pan never fails' line before getting a picture and then saying goodbye. Fans are really kind and sweet.

Promise ;) I will give you a hint though, this links with Sammy's overall birthday gift! (which I won't reveal until the thing happens) The next chapter will or might be her birthday)
