It all began one day when I was outside playing with my friend. We were playing with our dolls when we heard a loud siren go off. We both got very scared. I told her to run home and hide because that was what I was going to do. When I got inside I heard my mother talking very loudy. I ran up to her and asked her what was going on. She wouldn't tell me all she told me was to pack a bag of my favorite things and to hurry. I went upstairs into my room. I grabbed clothes and a brush. I went over to my toy box and grabbed my 3 favorite dolls. The ones my grandmother gave me before she died. I could hear what seemed to be the sound of bombs and gun shots. I ran back downstairs with my bag and my mother told me to go to the basement with my brothers while she gathered a few things from the rest of the house. As we sat in the basement in silence I heard my mother come down the stairs. We waited for 3 hours for the sounds to stop. When my brother thought it was okay to go outside and see what happened, I stopped him and said "what if we go out there and we die?" That made him change his mind and he stayed. When we waited and waited we finally heard someone come downstairs. We got very scared because we were not quite sure who it really was. We heard a voice what seemed to be a mans voice. We got very scared very quickly. When he reached the final step, we noticed that he was dressed in a uniform. On his right arm was the sign of the Nazi symbol. My mother started to scream. The man spoke up and asked "are there any Jews hiding down here?" The only bad thing about what he said was that my family were Jews. When he looked at my brother and I he noticed the Star of David that was on our coats. He walked closer to us. I closed my eyes and prayed that he wouldn't take me. When I opened my eyes I could feel him breathing on me. He picked me and my brother up off of the floor and he pushed us up the staris and out the front door. I looked behind me and saw that there were other soldiers following behind us. They had ahold of my parents. The soldiers stopped and turned me and my brother around so we were facing our parents. The man yelled " these people lied to us about being Jews." He pulled out a gun from his pocket and he shot my mom and dad right in front of us.
