The grandfather's clock in the grand hall struck for the twelfth time. "You are finally going out tomorrow." she said to herself looking at the moonlight coming from the big window beside her bed.
She couldn't stop thinking about her friend, Lia. Lia was with her when she celebrated her 17th birthday last year. Now she is all alone because Lia was adopted to a new family last year. While she was wandering by herself sun rose up. The day started but she couldn't get rid of the loneliness inside her. After many months she still couldn't get used to the loneliness she felt.
She walked to the great hall for breakfast after washing away all her worries in the shower. Though it was her birthday, it was just like a normal day. She grabbed the usual breakfast went to the same table she used to sit with her friend.
"Kylie, come to the office?" Ms. Irene the caretaker of them called her to the Dean's office. Kylie got up with mixed feelings and went to the office.
As usual Mrs. Wright was sitting in her chair but, one of the two chairs in front was occupied by a man she has never seen before. "Come in dear, Happy Birthday, finally your day has arrived."
