"Hey, Dad...... How did you get so good at racing?" A childish, 5-year-old voice asked. "Daddy had a lot of other racing friends. These racing friends helped me out. Made me the Best of the best in the town. No one could defeat me! No one! Just one person had managed to defeat me. I have told you that story. Who was it?" A Gruff, manly voice replied. "Grandfather! He had beaten you" The 5-year-old voice replied again. "Speaking of my racing past, let me tell you a story. This was about a race that I had. This race....was against a younger version of myself. Like as if I was racing my past self. This person reminded me of how I used to race in the past. This... Is about my final street race in my racing years. "

*Flashback, 4 years ago*

A teenager who appeared to be about Eighteen years old leaned on the side of his car. This car had a carbon fiber hood, pop-up headlights, and a Group A rally car engine. The car was a hatchback, with the Trueno nameplate stuck to its bumper. The rear had the words 'GT-APEX' on it, placed right above the square taillights.  This, Was a Zenki Toyota AE86 Trueno GT-APEX 3-Door Hatchback. The teen, who was leaning on the car, appeared to be waiting on someone. He had brown hair, which was neatly parted down the middle. He had brownish-green eyes, whose brows were furrowed. He had a swimmer's build and wore a plain white T-Shirt, Blue Jeans, and blue shoes with the letter 'N' imprinted on them. This.... was Takumi Fujiwara, Aged Nineteen.

"Fujiwara, remember. This is Project D's Final Battle. You need to perform well. They are sending out the big guns now. Sidewinder is the fastest  over here." A blue-haired man calmly rattled out, His blue eyes fixated on Takumi. Takumi stared right back at him as if he were doing so as a signal that he understood everything. A Yellow-haired man with grey eyes, who seemed to be in his early twenties, approached the pair. "They're here." He said. These, were the Takahashi Brothers, or namely, Keisuke Takahashi and Ryosuke Takahashi. The two, along with Takumi, were part of the Street racing team 'Project D', which had taken over the street racing scene by storm.  They were now approaching their final battle. The one that would go down in the history of Kanagawa's racing scene.

A pair of headlights appeared over the hairpin, as a two-door AE86 Coupe slowly came into view. After that came a blood-red Honda NSX. Followed by that were other high-performance cars, all belonging to one team. This... was team Sidewinder.

The Eight-Six stopped right behind Takumi's Eight-Six, with the other cars stopping in line behind the Eight-Six. "Wow..... Interesting!" Takumi whispered out, looking at the Aura that the other AE86 was Emitting. The Eight-Six Emitted a purple aura as if it were disgusted by the presence of another Eight-Six in its proximity. An array of the sounds of car doors opening were emitted, followed by the sounds of doors closing. Then, a teen, who was in the Eight-Six, and a man in his twenties from the NSX Approached Fumihiro, who would be handling the communication between the two teams, along with being responsible for setting up Keisuke's car before a race. "Welcome to tonight's race. We are happy to have you here. Since the road is wide enough, this will be a sprint race. Whoever crosses the line first will win. It is now up to your team as to which race will be done first." Fumihiro said and waited for the two drivers to make the decision. "Alright, We'll have the downhill first." The man from the NSX said.

The man had an extremely sharp jawline, with a muscular build, and wore a black T-Shirt along with Gray Jeans. This, Was Go Hojo. The other driver, from the Eight Six, Looked a little more Childlike and wore almost the same outfit as Takumi. This was Shinji Inui, who had become the new rising star of the downhill in Kanagawa. "Before we start the race, let us introduce ourselves. I'm Takumi Fujiwara. Hope we have a good battle." Takumi said, shaking Shinji's hand. "I'm Shinji Inui. Nice to meet you.  The two again entered their cars, now moving them off the road. Takumi and Shinji got into their cars, with Takumi feeling a little uneasy. "Why does it feel like I can see my former self in him? It feels unsettling!" Takumi thought to himself, as he started the engine. He went ahead and revved his car, and then released the clutch and brake. The car made a 180-degree turn, and Takumi then crawled up to the starting line, ready to go. Shinji also went ahead and pulled a 180, and then pulled alongside Takumi, his front perfectly lined up with Takumi's.
