Rick was dragged by the collar down a long hall. He felt exhausted. Whatever they had done to him, it drained him. He felt his legs slide along the floor limply. Where were they taking him? He needed to get away. But he couldn't.
They stopped for a second, then the Hydra soldier tossed him into the strange cell. Rick stared up, and saw a glass-like substance several feet above him. He laid there for a while, until something nudged him. He turned his head up, and saw a startling sight.
A weird creature with fur as black as night with flecks of white scattered around stared at him with intent, glowing white eyes. It was enormous! He yelled and jumped back. Its eyes were trained on his every move.
Then, the strangest thing happened. The wolf-like creature started getting smaller and smaller. Its coat changed color too. The black changed to white, and the white changed to black. Very soon, it looked like a regular cat with a pelt that looked like snow sprinkled with pepper.
Rick wasn't sure if he was still sane. Did he just see what he thought he saw? He carefully edged to the side, trying to make distance between him and the odd thing.
As if to make things more confusing, the thing spoke. "Donnot go!" It exclaimed. It's voice seemed like it was not used to speaking. It slurred on a syllable, and almost ran the words together. "Palease!" It said.
To his despair, it came towards him. He used his foot to push it back, but it just kept coming, meowling in its poor speech. "Whatiss name? Palease donnot go!"
He was standing in a corner, and the thing was rubbing his legs, just like a cat would. Its poor meowling was starting to get slightly annoying, but he was intrigued by this strange freak of nature.
It looked up to his face. "Whatiss name?" It begged.
As weirded out as he was by this morphing thing, he picked it up, holding it carefully by its top half. Its face pushed up. It almost looked like it was smiling. "Whatiss name?" It repeated.
     "I..." He began. "Rick..."
"Rick?" It tilted its head slightly. "Hallo! Are you stay here long?"
     "I...don't know..." He said.
"Sally, I donnot have name." It said.
He thought for a moment. "How about Sally?" He threw the suggestion out.
"Luvvit! Luvvit!" It got excited, and jumped from his arms. "Sally! Sally!" It shouted, prancing around.
"Alright, alright! Quiet down." He didn't want to make any of the Hydra soldiers irritated.
"Wanna meet Star-Thief?" Its voice lowered and it had a mischievous tone.
     "Who now?" He was confused.
Sally laughed a cute little laugh. It then transformed into the large, black, wolf-like creature Rick had seen earlier. He backed into the corner again. The thing walked up to him. Its face was eye level to his. This creature was different from any wolf he had ever seen. Not that he had seen many wolves, that is.
"Hello." The monster said. "My name Star-Thief." It cocked its head sideways. "You look scared. Want me bring Sally back?"
"N-no!" He said. "Please stay." He walked forward, and stood beside Star-Thief. He ran his hand through its fur. It was soft, warm, and it glowed with an unnatural light. He placed his face into it. It looked like the night sky. It was even breath taking. The beautiful creature laid down, and he laid down with it, his face still in its pelt. He fell asleep like that. He was, after all, still very exhausted.
