"Ms. Watson, are you okay?", the soldier asked.
"Yes. I am fine.."
The feeling of defeat is heavy, but I must face that fact and move forward. If I don't then who will?
"Looks like you really ruined his entire body..", the soldier said.
I nodded in response, since my feelings are still mixed.
The soldiers double-checked if Jack's body is still active, but there were no signs of response after checking the pulse and stabbing his skin with a knife.
I stood up and wore my cap which I picked up on my right, then the soldier went up to me and asked about Jack's body.
"Ms. Watson, are you certain that the body over there is Jack the Ripper?"
"Yes, I am certain. Why is that?"
"I don't know but.. The body of that person suddenly started to rapidly decay.."
"What?"
I checked the body after the soldier told me about the scenario. And when I saw it for myself, the body went from looking fresh into a decayed substance. And it released the most disgusting smell that I've ever smelled...
"Ms. Watson, are you really sure that that's Jack?", another soldier asked.
"I don't know..."
I pretended not to know but in truth, I do know what's happening on the body.
The body was not the Reaper's own body, because it was just possessed by Jack. And that body was used by Jack for a month. But even though it was used for a month, I'm fairly certain that it was living but the heart was barely beating. And after Jack left the body, the body rapidly started to get decay since it finally followed the physics of an ordinary dead body.
The soldiers are confused but I just followed the atmosphere, they don't need to know everything..
"Ms. Watson, Chief Joseph wants to talk to you.", a soldier behind me said.
I nodded and followed the soldier, which he leaded me to an armored vehicle. And inside were mostly supplies but there was a telephone.
The soldier that was on the vehicle gave me the telephone as soon as I arrived, and after putting it on my ear, the Chief's voice was heard from the other side of the line.
"Ms. Watson, the Amelia's that you ordered Jhon to gather together, finally regained consciousness.", the Chief said.
"Phew.. That's good news Chief.", I said as I sighed.
"It is, but how did you do this? Like, we thought that the bodies of these women have already..."
"I'll answer your questions after I'm finished here Chief, it looks like the soldiers here needs some assistance. And we still have to check the abandoned house to see if Jack left some things there.."
"I see.. Then I'll talk to you once you've completed your task. But once again, good job Ms. Watson."
"Thank you Chief."
The line cuts off after I gave my thanks.
I gave the telephone back to the soldier that was on the vehicle and left to check how things are going.
The body was disposed on the other vehicle, so that CSIs could check it on their lab. Meanwhile, the soldiers were checking the surroundings to see if Jack had any other people or allies. But after checking for a while, the soldiers found none and they signaled that everything is clear.
After the soldiers checked and double-checked everything, I told everyone to gather around as I walked towards the middle of the area.
