~√~√~√~Third Person POV~√~√~√~

"Are you ready?" Normani asked Lauren as she walked into her best friend's room

The dark-skinned girl was fully dressed in a casual attire, jeans and an Aeropostle with her natural curls out. She wasn't too fund of make make-up like her best friend, she only wore it on special occasions. All she had on her face was a generous coat of her favorite Victoria's Secret lip gloss

"Yeah I am" Lauren answered as she stood up from her vanity chair

Her hair neatly curled and pinned in a professional manner. She wanted nothing more than to meet one of her idols who she looked up to despite the age difference

"I still can't believe I'm going to meet her. I mean I have met her before but not one-on-one" she rambled as she walked to and from her closet

"Yes Lauren. Now come on before we're late" the younger girl scolded as she made her way to the front door

After 20 minutes the duo were finally walking into the office of one of the most talented photographers in the state

"Good to see you're finally here Ms. Hamilton and you must be Ms. Jauregui" Dinah said

She held her hand out for Lauren to shake before shaking Normani's hand, spending a little longer than she did with the Cuban

"This is Blake, the photographer for today" Dinah said introducing the girls to the unfamiliar guy

"Let's get started shall we" he spoke up, his New York accent highly noticeable

"Thank you again for the pictures" Lauren expressed as the three walked towards the exit

"No problem at all" Dinah said before turning to the dark-skinned graduate "May I have a word?"

Normani nodded and told Lauren goodbye seeing as she was heading straight to the library for some other project

"You wanted to talk" Normani said breaking her and Dinah's staring contest

She was already flustered by the business woman staring at her the whole time throughout the photoshoot and this one on one staring contest was not doing her justice to all

"Yes. Are you free right now?" Dinah asked getting straight to the point

"Yes I suppose so. Why?" Normani asked looking up at the taller girl suspiciously

"I would like to take you out for a drink. Coffee?"

Normani blushed at the question, certainly not what she expected

'This hot shot millionaire wants to take me out on a date' she thought before a smile made its way to her face

"I would love that" she answered

Dinah lead Normani to her expensive and shiny black car then drove off to a near by coffee shop

It was quiet as they sat at the window seat to the back of the small town café. Customers and passers-by looking at the two, mostly Dinah who was giving her undivided attention to Normani

Even when the tea came, Normani avoided eye contact, nibbling her lip as she gazed down at the steaming hot liquid in her cup

"You look nervous" Dinah said stating the obvious but also wanting to get the older girl to talk

"You have this intimidating stare" Normani said truthfully

"So I've been told. I'll try to keep it at a minimum" Dinah answered which caused Normani to look over at the Polynesian

As promised, Dinah tried her best to not look so intimidating as the two slowly sipped their different beverage

Halfway through, Dinah realized that Normani had yet to take a bite of the muffin,  so she took it upon herself to take it out of its wrapper and give it to her directly

"Eat" was all she said, her firey gaze taking its natural course

"You know, you are very bossy" Normani answered as she glanced at the blueberry muffin in front of her

"I'm used to getting my own way" Dinah said and Normani looked back at the caramel skinned girl, the intimidating gaze not phasing her anymore

Normani hated being told what to and what not to do and in this moment her determination spiked. She held yet another staring contest. Their eyes looking into each other's soul none of them backing down

Dinah let out a small chuckle before taking the muffin for herself making Normani slightly regret her choice

"So, tell me about yourself"

"I am 25 years old, I love animals, I am a down to earth person and I'm way too loving. I've let so many people in and I always get disappointed but I'm willing to put my heart on the line once again if you're up for it...an us that is" Normani answered

Dinah looked as she noticed Normani opening up to her about herself; being a loving person, which meant she was into romance and stuff which was not what Dinah intended in any way, shape of form

"Are you done drinking your tea? I'm taking you home" Dinah said as she got her phone from off the table

"I- I guess yeah" Normani said confused as to what stirred the sudden change in Dinah's mood

Dinah and Normani started walking out of the café. Normani's mind was troubled with questions

"Did I say something just now to make you feel offended?" Normani questioned

"No you didn't" Dinah answered keeping it brief

"You have a girlfriend? Is that why your mood changed after I said that?" The dark-skinned girl pushed

"No, I don't do the girlfriend thing" Dinah said as she came to a stop at the pedestrian crossing

However, Normani was too caught up in instigating she didn't realized she had stepped into the road when she went to face Dinah

Lucky for her, Dinah was observant and quickly pulled Normani out of three way when she saw a bicycle speeding around the corner

She held the shorter woman who was in shock at what just happened. Dinah's heart started beating normal once again against she started caressing the dark-skinned girl's cheek

"I'm not the one you want to be with, trust me. You'll find someone who matches your criteria but I know I'm not the one for you" Dinah said

"How do you know that? You haven't even given me a chance and you're just quick to shut it down. You know what? Whatever, maybe I will find someone other than you" Normani argued and started walking the opposite way
