{Braelyn}
I'm Braelyn smith, plain and simple. I live in st. Louis, also plain and simple. I have been in foster care all my life, but I'm not looking for pity. Have you ever heard of that girl that got kidnapped because she was tricked with free candy? I'm like that girl, just tricked with finding my parents, and actually, I'm fine. It's been 3 years since I disappeared from From St. Louis because I was lured into a car. But here's the story from the beginning.

*3 years earlier*

I was walking a different route today. What happened yesterday with Mac made me never want to go back. Well, more than I already didn't want to go back. I walked the longer way home. I started to smell gas, and hear the rumbling of a truck. Just as fast as it came, it disappeared. And then the gas smell drifted away, and the rumbling was replaced with heavy footsteps coming towards me.

I began to walk faster, not planning to look back. At the second I tried to go across to the other sidewalk, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I thought my soul jumped out of my body.

I slowly turned and looked at the man.

"Y-yes?"I stuttered.

"Are you Braelynn Smith." I could see in his eyes that you already knew the answer.

"Why?" I asked

"I'm asking the questions, so answer."

"Yes." and then a wicked yet comforting smile appeared on those chapped, dry lips of his. My eyes traveled back up to his eyes. They're so icy blue. I swear I've seen them before.

"Your in foster care, right?" He kept a smirk.

"Yes.."

"I can help."

"With what?"

"Finding your birth parents." I thought he was lying, I didn't want him to be though. Of course my better judgement didnt come through as much as it should have. I found most of my self caught up in his lie, and I think he wanted to believe it was true too.

"Come." he walked backwards looking at me the whole time.

"I don't bite Braelyn." his voice laced with venom.

My feet were stuck to the ground, as if they were glued. Turns out it wasn't my feet, it was my mind that was stuck. My mind knew the truth but my heart believed the same thing that I wanted to. Suddenly my foot moved, then the other. I walked all the way to the truck. But maybe, just maybe, this was better that going back to Mac's. And I was taking my chance on escaping. I thought maybe I could use this man,who never told me his name, to take me away.

"It's about 3 hours ."

"What is?"

"My place."

"What are we gonna do there?"

"Find your parents, I said that."

"You never said where." I raised a brow.

And he glared

Why does this man know my name, that I'm in foster care, and looking for my birth parents? One thing I know is I've seen those eyes before, no one can not remember those eyes once they've been seen.

"I expected you to be asking questions."

"I don't have any." I lied, I have tons. I don't think I'll be getting the correct answers though, so why bother? What if he has been stalking me and lured me into his car so he could kill me.

"I'm Jace by the way."

"Ok, I do have one question, or maybe 3.."

"Ask away." He kept his eyes on the road.
