Chapter 9

Zayn’s Pov

Just as I was leaning up to kiss her, she screamed in pain. She was holding her arm and just yelling at it. Now she was crying and I didn’t know what to do.

“Kylie! What happened?” I asked nervously.

She replied, “It h-hurts r-r-really b-bad.”

Not knowing what to do, I started the car up again and drove her home. When we reached her house, I pulled up into her driveway, even if we do live next door, and opened the car door for her. She still was crying but not as hard. I put my left arm around her waist as I walked on the right side of her, careful to not touch her painful arm. As we reached the door, I knocked on it and her Dad answered it.

“Hi Za-, Kylie! What’s wrong sweetheart?” her Dad proclaimed.

Just then, her Mother waddled over to the door to wrap her daughter up in her arms.

Since neither of them knew what was going on, I decided I would let them know.

“Kylie and I were driving home when her arm started to have serious pain. She didn’t really sad what was happening but she said it hurt.”

“Thank you Zayn, we’ll take it from here,” Kylie’s Dad explained.

Kylie then protested out of your Mother’s arms yelling, “No! I mean can Zayn please stay with me?”

My heart just melted when she said that. Her parents agreed to let me stay there and offered for me to stay for dinner. I simply thanked them and went to turn off my car. As I walked back up to the house, her Mother gave me some pills and two water bottles.

“Zayn, could you please give this to Kylie? It’ll help with the pain.”

I simply nodded and took the supplies up to her room. When I came in, she was laying on her bed, playing with her cast.

“Hey,” I said.

Kylie replied with a smile, “Hey!”

“Umm, your Mom told me to give this to you. It should help with the pain.”

She took the pills, plopped them in her mouth and drank some water. Kylie then gave me back the water bottle so I could put the lid back on.

I placed the bottles on her table when she grabbed my wrist.

“Can you come lay with me?” she asked.

I nodded with a smile and went on the other side of the bed. As soon as I sat down, she curled up into me with her head on my chest. I just placed my arm around her and we just sat there. She then turned around to lie on my stomach and smiled up at me.

“Thank you,” she said, “for everything you’ve been doing for me. I can’t describe in words how much it means to me to have you here. I always feel safer around you.”

I smiled while playing with her soft blonde hair.

“Hey, that’s what friends are for, right?” I said.

She nodded then smiled. “Want to watch a movie?” she asked.

“Yea! Which one?”

“The Lucky One?”

“Sure!”

I put the DVD in and laid back down with her. This was one of her favorite movies and whenever she watched it, she always cried. As I laid down, she curled up to me. Just feeling the warmth from her body made me feel complete. I don’t know about her, but I think I was falling for her.
