it was the final inning.

the score was twelve to ten.

white sox were up by two.

they red sox were up to bat with one out on the board.

two players were on base. one at third and one on second.

renjun was exhuasted.

he was ready to hit the bed.

"babe."

"hm?"

"can i come over to yours after this?"

"mhm. i'm too tired to go anywhere." renjun said yawning after the pitch was thrown.

"we'll throw jeno out."

"jaem." renjun laughed. "that's not how it works. we share a room."

"that's not fair." renjun could hear the pout in jaemin's voice.

"but i want to be alone with you."

"shut up jaem!" renjun hit him subtly and jaemin laughed.

"ow! don't think like that. and you call me the perv." jaemin rolled his eyes.

"can we just call it already? we're already up." renjun yawned after seeing the player stroke out.

"in your dreams. be ready for this next guy, he's got the swings."

"whatever you guys need one more out and we've basically won."

"hm. congrats babe. you'll get a reward." jaemin smirked and renjun rolled his eyes.

"whatever."

the ball was a pop fly. it went just above renjun's glove to catch it and so it bounced from the grass and into jaehyun's glove.

jaehyun immediately threw the ball home where jungwoo was ready.

"f three!" renjun called out and jungwoo immediately threw the ball to renjun and renjun got the out at second.

cheers were heard throughout the bleachers.

renjun threw the ball in before heading to the dugout with the rest of his team.

renjun got many pat on the backs from his teammates and many high-fives.

they had their final bat and renjun knew it was his last ever batting experience.

"you're not playing next year?"

it's like mark had read his mind.

"mm i don't think so." renjun said and mark frowned.

"oh renjun! there's a lot of potential in you, are you sure you don't want to come back? you would make the best captain." johnny said and renjun chuckled.

"im honored johnny hyung. i'll think about it." renjun said and johnny nodded.

"all the hyungs are leaving ren. taeyong, jaehyun, johnny, jungwoo, yuta, ten."

renjun sighed and nodded.

"i still have the rest of the year and summer to think about it." renjun said and mark nodded.

"i'll be waiting." mark smiled and renjun nodded.

"ball game!" the ump called out.

the white sox took the win along with the title.

the red sox congratulated the whites and vice versa.

coach kim and coach moon shook hands as a peace offering.
