Tira POV
I floated between Phil's and thems and Ray's and thems classrooms. The older kids got enrolled in online classes since Isabella needed to teach the younger kids. The older kids were still going to get taught by Isabella but it was more like a study hall where they ask questions and she helps make sure they understand the material they learnt.
"Norman, Ray, can you guys explain this?" Emma asked.
"Hm?" Norman and Ray rolled over and looked at her screen. I peeked over and saw that she was learning about matrix algebra. My eyes were already spinning from looking at it. I backed away and headed over to Derrick to see what he was doing and choked.
"Why are you looking up ghost stuff?!" I blurted out in shock. His head snapped behind and stared right through me and I froze.
"Derrick? What's up?" Ray asked, looking over. Derrick's eyebrows furrowed.
"I swear I just heard someone ask me why I was looking up ghost stuff," he said, glaring around the room. I slowly covered my mouth and backed away. My head was spinning with thoughts.
How could Derrick hear me? It's been pretty uncommon people too. Jennifer's seen me? In a sense she has at least. Anyways, I drifted over, my hand still over my mouth as I looked at the screen and read up on what he was looking at.
"Ghosts mess more with people who are scared of them... huh, I guess that's true but that doesn't explain why Phil and the others can't hear me." I sighed and looked at the thing called a mouse. I poked it and I noticed the little arrow on the screen move. My eyes widened and I looked over at Derrick who was talking with Ray and Norman. I sat on the chair, or came as close as sitting on the chair I could without falling through, and scrolled down the site.
"Not all ghosts are evil- WHAT-" I slapped my hand over my mouth again when Derrick's head snapped over. He looked over at me skeptically. I knew he couldn't see me but was that stare uncomfortable!
"You heard something again?" Ray asked, looking over. Derrick nodded, slowly getting up and not taking his eyes off where I was sitting. He pulled something out of his pocket and I gasped, backing the heck up.
"What's that?" Emma asked, probably the first and only time she'd talk normally to Derrick.
"Holy water."
"You don't seem to be religious," Norman said as he watched me slowly meet my doom. He poured a bit onto his hand and flicked the water at me, which I dodged of course.
"HOW ARE YOU SO APATHETIC?!" I screeched ask it almost hit me. I ran past them and through the wall, jumping onto Phil.
"Only Phil gets me!" I cried out. For the rest of class I was with him, not wanting to go back to whatever was in store for me back there. Screw you Derrick! To think I was even rooting for you!
"Hey Phil! How about you get a pendulum?" Sarah asked when they were packing up. Phil tilted his head confused and blinked a couple of times.
"Pendulum?"
"It lets you talk with spirits through your natural energies! Here's mine." Sarah pulled out a hella cute citrine crystal dangling on a chain.
"It's so pretty!" Eitan said with a smile, staring at it.
"Does it really work?" Johnathan asked skeptically, making the same face that Derrick made not too long ago. Sarah laughed evilly and held it over the palm of her other hand.
"Let's find out!"
