Maria's POV
Sitting in homeroom with my friends was boring. The teacher was babbling about something and John was drawing turtles in his math's book. Peggy sat next to John with her head on his shoulder looking like she was about to fall asleep. I looked around the class and no one was really paying attention, I think the teacher even gave up. He just sat back in his chair and started scrolling on his phone. We weren't meant to be on our phones in class but no one listened to that rule, even the principal Mr. Washington didn't follow the rule. Speaking of him, he came barging through the door grabbing everyone's attention. He began speaking and I heard John whispering at Peggy to wake up. I sighed wishing I had a boyfriend as sweet as John. Washington started talking and suddenly everyone's eyes were on the board where the PowerPoint was playing. Everyone started looking at each other trying to figure out what he was talking about. Soon enough he left and the teacher handed out permission slips. He explained that the information about where we were going and what we were going to do was on the back. Shockingly, the trip only cost $200. It was strange because I read the back and it said we were going to France and we were in New York! I turned to look at the group and they all looked back at me.
"Guys!! We're going aren't we?!" I said in an excited tone. Peggy groaned, she had a bit of anxiety when it came to new things. John gave her a hug and kissed her on her forehead. I sighed again to see Lafayette looking at me. I looked back down to the sheet of paper and I felt something I haven't really felt before, like I was empty inside? I looked at Alex and Eliza and they were as happy as could be. Alex said as soon as he and Eliza turned 18 that he was going to propose to her. I guess when you know you know? John and Peggy or Jeggy as we all call them, were also as happy they could be. It was sad, I was all alone.
"Well I know I'm going, anything to go back to my home country." Lafayette spoke with a little smile on his face. I looked back up at him and I smiled softly. We locked eyes, it was weird, then I felt something in my stomach. I haven't felt like that in forever. Butterflies maybe? Although it was close to that time of month again so it could've just been cramps.
"You know Alex." Eliza started to speak but started trailing off.
"What is it Love?" He spoke in a soft tone. She kept looking down at the table and we could all see something was wrong. No one really spoke for the rest of the class which wasn't too long. We all walked out to put our stuff in our locker. Eliza walked out of class slowly but nobody thought too much about it. Peggy called me over to the side after everyone dropped their stuff off and got food.
"I think somethings wrong with Eliza. She doesn't seem right at home and she seems even worse around Alex." She said in a panicked voice. Peggy was right, there was definitely something on Eliza's mind we just didn't know what. I hugged Peggy. She was already stressed enough.
"It's going to be ok Peggy. Eliza knows what she's doing, if she's hiding something it's for a reason." I tried to comfort her but nothing seemed to work. Angelica was never really good at comforting people so I knew I couldn't go to her to help with Peggy, and I definitely couldn't get Eliza because it was about her and I know Peggy doesn't want her to find out about our conversation. I led Peggy back to the table all of our friends were sitting at and I sat down next to Peggy and Lafayette. Peggy's eyes were glossy because it looked like she was about to cry but somehow John didn't notice. Maybe he didn't say anything because he knew how stressed she was with all the work they were giving us. The rest of the went by as normal but I could see that Lafayette was looking at me weirdly. He's been doing that a lot lately and I'm not sure if I should question him on it or see if anyone else knows why. We got on the bus home and I sat alone. One of the many perks of being single. As I stared out the window when I heard whispering behind my seat. John, Peggy and Lafayette were being so secretive so I shot them all a glare then looked at Eliza to see if she knew what was going on. She shrugged but also turned red so she knew something. Alexander turned back to his phone before I had time to ask him. I rolled my eyes. I don't really like being left out of things.
The rest of the bus way home was quiet, it felt like someone was staring at me. When the bus got to my house I grabbed my bag and some kid took my seat. I ran down the stairs on the bus and grabbed my house key out of the bag.
"Crap, where is it?" I muttered to myself. I pulled my phone out and messaged Lafayette to see if he could find it on the bus.

Hello kiddos this is I Shae. I hope you like this story check out my others. One was written as a joke and it was done last year I think so its trash. I don't know much French so that's why there probably wont be a lot of it in there, Ill try and use google translate more. If stories take forever to come out its not because I haven't written them its because I'm waiting for my friend to edit. I love her but she never replies to people lol. Enjoy your day kiddos :)
