Killua begrudgingly woke up to his stupid alarm.
He got up out of his stupid bed.
He then made stupid breakfast for his stupid family.
And he absolutely hated that stupid school was in two and a half stupid weeks.
There was one thing though, that he didn't think was complete bullshit...
[Flashback - a week and a half earlier]
"Mom, Dad!" Killua yelled down the stairs to his parents. It was time.
"What the hell do you want, Killua?" Kikyo shouted back.
Rolling his eyes, the white-haired boy cleared his throat and declared, "I wanna ask y'all something!"
Silva made his way down the stairs, with Kikyo right behind him. Silva was tall, so Kikyo looked very short compared to him when she leaned against the wall. "What do you need, son?" Silva asked.
"Okay... so, y'know how I just graduated, right?" Killua started out simple. He hated this so much because of the awkwardness. Both parents nodded slowly. "Good. And I got all As. So, I've been thinking-"
"About what?" Kikyo wondered. Killua huffed.
"I was getting to that."
"Okay, okay. Do continue. We're so proud of you."
Killua blushed. "As I was saying, I did really well last year, and I want to go to a high school in America!" Killua smiled brightly. He had just turned fourteen a month or so ago.
Silva scratched his head. Killua's mother had wide eyes. "Why would you want to do that?" Silva asked.
"There's one in York New City that seems really nice! I want to travel somewhere new, and see things I've never seen before!" Killua's smile did not fade.
"What is this school called?" Killua was asked.
"It's named York New Private School, or YNPS for short," he responded matter-of-factly.
The adults sighed. They hated to see their young boy so far from home, but they could see how much he wanted to go. They were so happy for him because he worked so hard last year. They couldn't refuse. Kikyo and Silva cherished seeing him so happy.
Sharing looks of decision-making and unsurity, the parents had made up their choice.
Killua could go.
When they told their teenager the news, Killua was beyond ecstatic. Literally.
"We'll take you there in two weeks or so, so you can get familiar with the city for a bit. Once you arrive, you'll have about two more weeks before school starts," Silva instructed. "Is that okay?"
The blue-eyed teen nodded forcefully, more than pleased.
After all, he got to go to his dream school.
Second of all, he'd get to meet his online best friend of six years for the first time, too. Which Killua's parents didn't know about.
Killua was planning on surprising his bestie, too. He couldn't wait. It was going to be the best day ever.
Right?
[End of flashback]
Three more days.
Three more days until Killua boards the airship to York New City to attend school in just over two weeks.
Packing was a nightmare, Killua couldn't decide what to leave and what to bring. He basically decided by asking himself: Would it be okay if my parents found this while I was gone?
Which eliminated a lot.
Such as some suspicious clothing that who knows where it came from, sketchbooks, his diary (he prefers journal, but his sister says it's a diary), some books, magazines, movies, CDs, many stray socks and some toys. Which were definitely, totally from his toy bin.
One hundred percent.
Anyhoodles, he grabbed all the luggages, suitcases and tote bags he could find. Somehow, he had to bring all this shit with him. Because he couldn't leave it behind for his parents to find.
They'd murder him, bring him back to life, torture him and finish him off by killing him slowly.
Killua didn't exactly like that idea, so he packed all his shit up and loaded it into the car. For the next few days he borrowed his sibling's clothes since he was all packed. Next step was getting to the Tokyo airport and onto the plane, straight to York New City.
The drive wasn't so bad, he got to play his own music in the car. Usually, it was the driver who got to choose. It was only his parents with him, so they let him pick the tunes.
Airport security is literally a living nightmare. Added to all the fucking stress of the workers opening up his bags with his parents right behind him. Silva particularly wondered why the security guard gave his son a suspicious look. Either way, he let it go once he was cleared.
"Goodbye, honey! We will miss you so much!" Kikyo waved as he stepped closer to the gate.
"Make us proud, son, we know you can," Silva stood tall. Killua blushed.
"Okay, okay. Stop being so embarrassing. I'll make sure to text you and call you! I'll see you later," Killua replied. He stepped out of sight, and walked towards a flight attendant to guide him to his seat.
Leading him to first class, she pointed to the seat that was Killua's. He sat down, adjusting his ass to make it as comfortable as a twenty-one hour flight can be.
"Two weeks until I see him," Killua smiled softly.
