Tommy's POV

The harsh wind whipped against my face leaving it slightly numb. The only sounds that could be heard were the fragile, dead leaves and sticks crunching beneath my feet. For miles around me in every direction was nothing but dry desolate land. At one point this land might have been a luscious green forest filled with plants and wildlife, maybe you could have been able to smell the scent of blooming summer flowers or heard the tweeting of birds perched high up in their tree top sanctuaries. But now, there was nothing. Now we were lucky if we saw a singular tree let alone an animal. The air was no longer warm and smelt like flowers; it was dry and tinted orange. Some Days we saw the sun but for the most part it hid behind the thick looming clouds.

The date is currently August 14, 2025. Or at least I think that's right. The apocalypse started around the end of june.

The apocalypse.

Never in a million years would I have thought that in my lifetime I would have to survive the zombie apocalypse. Yet here we are.

No one really knows how it happened but we all have our speculations. Some think it was caused by a failed experiment, others believe it was an act of god, but most people don't have a bloody clue what happened.

I am one of those people.

I don't know how it happened or why it happened, all I know is that it did happen and now I have to do everything in my power to survive it.

Even though I don't know what caused the apocalypse, I do know a few basic things about it: 1. It spread extremely fast, 2. It killed 50% of the population and mutated the other 49.99% into a form of zombie, and 3. It took everything from me.

When the apocalypse hit no one was expecting it, there was little to no time for anyone to prepare which is why most people either died or got infected. I don't know how I survived but I did. Sometimes I wish I hadn't but I can't really change that now.

The town I lived in before the apocalypse got almost completely wiped out. That included my family. I was on my own for a few weeks after the apocalypse initially hit, I was forced to quickly adapt and learn how to defend myself along with taking care of myself in general. I'll admit it was hard. I began to lose hope of staying alive not to mention at that point I was certain that no one in my town survived. That is until I ran into two other boys around my age.

They had been with each other for a week or so before they found me but that fortunately didn't stop them from asking if I wanted to tag along. Obviously I accepted. I soon learned that one was named Ranboo - he was the really tall one - and Toby - the shorter, really aggressive one - who said he preferred that I call him Tubbo. They were both 17 and had also lost their families due to the apocalypse.

That brings me back to the present. I've been with Tubbo and Ranboo for a few weeks now and we are slowly starting to form some sort of friendship. I'm not sure what I think of that Ranboo guy so far but I think I like Tubbo. Ranboo has little to no social skills and is really awkward most of the time, not to mention he is taller than I am and that is simply disgraceful. He also has this weird journal he always writes in. Tubbo on the other hand has more energy than anyone i've ever met before and has the most immature sense of humor possible. I don't mind though, honestly as much as I hate to admit it I think it made me feel better overall. It's a sense of relief knowing that not everything good in the world was destroyed and I like that tubbo can see past the gloom and find humor in the situation we are all in.

As of right now we are currently walking around outside the town looking for somewhere to stay for a while. The town has become overrun with zombies and it is no longer safe to stay there. However one good thing about the zombies is that they can't go in direct sunlight: it's almost like they are allergic. It used to be easier to do stuff and get around during the start of the apocalypse when the sun still regularly poked its head from behind the now almost permanent mass of clouds. During the day the zombies used to lurk in the shadows or hide in the ruins of buildings, but now that the sun doesn't come out as frequently the zombies basically have free run and can go wherever without burning to death.

I don't really know where we plan on ending up today but I hope we find somewhere safer to lay low for a bit.

The problem with that is we don't have many supplies left which means we might have to venture to the city sometime in the next few days. I hope not though.
