POV - Narrator:
Hangetsu collapsed onto the ground, completely wrecked. His body ached. Even though only a few seconds had passed by in the regular world, Han had experienced torture for 72 hours in Itachi's fictional Tsukuyomi world.
"Your resistance to revealing any information about your comrades is good. Not once did you waver during the hours of torture I put you through." Itachi commented. "I'm impressed." Itachi grabbed Han by his collar, violently tossing him into the river under the bridge.
"Kisame," Itachi called out to a sleepy Kisame who still happened to be laying under the tree. Kisame pretended to wake up from a long nap, stretching out his arms and yawning.
"Did you get the information we needed?" Kisame asked.
Itachi gave a dull look. Kisame raised an eyebrow. "Guess not. Well, this makes things more fun." Kisame grinned, revealing his sharp shark-like teeth.
"Now we're going to have to go through the village to search for the six-tails," Itachi said pessimistically. Itachi and Kisame stepped on the bridge, beginning to walk across it.
Little did they know that Hangetsu had heard them from under the bridge. Since Hangetsu was part of the Hozuki clan, he possessed their kekkei genkai. He was able to use hydrification to turn himself into water when Itachi threw him into the river that was located under the bridge. Itachi had assumed that Han would drown like any normal person would have.
I need to notify the Mizukage that the Akatsuki have returned to our village immediately, Hangetsu thought to himself. He swam through the river, making his way to the Mizukage's office.
POV - Y/n:
"Mei, we're here!" I said loudly. "I brought Chojuro!" I added as I swung open the embellished doors of her office. Mei was still sitting at her desk and it seemed like she had barely completed any of her paperwork.
"Um, where is Lady Mizukage?" wondered Chojuro, not being able to see her since the piled-up paperwork blocked her face.
"I'm right here," Mei answered, immediately getting up from her seat, revealing that she had been sitting behind the paperwork all along.
"Good afternoon, Lady Mei!" Chojuro greeted the Mizukage nervously. He proceeded to bow down.
"Good afternoon to you too, Chojuro," she replied, feeling embarrassed. "Please, don't bow. I'm like your older sister." she tittered.
"Sorry, Lady Mei." he apologized. "It's just, you're Mizukage now. You deserve the utmost level of respect." Mei smiled, flattered by his comment. She gently opened the doors of her office, signaling for both of us to follow. She led us to the central hall, where parties and ceremonies would usually take place. The room was in the shape of a circle. Pillars surrounded the room.
The floor had ceramic tiles that collectively formed the symbol of the Village Hidden in the Mist. Above, there was a stained-glass dome that consisted of the colors gray, aqua, and gold. On the opposite side of where I was standing, there was an opening. From it, part of the river flowed inside, into the floor. The path was built in such a way that it formed a swirl in the floor. And no, there was no glass to block the water since the people who built the building believed it looked nicer this way. Most of the time, no one was allowed in the hall unless they had booked it for an event.
In the center of the hall stood Ao, holding the Hiramekarei. Although it was wrapped in bandages, I was able to recognize it immediately because of its peculiar shape. It resembled the shape of a flounder.
Mei walked up to Ao. He held out Hiramekarei, handing it to her. There was a moment of silence and then Mei finally spoke. "Chojuro, come forward," she commanded. He looked at her, then at me. I could see he was nervous.
