No one expected this. A slow-witted young girl with delicate features meandered down the street. With no home to go back to, and no family to be with, the innocent young women was left to solemnly drift down the path with only herself and her twisted past; a past that no one wants. A past that is a curse from God or a gift from Satan. No one wants to remember the pain that burns in the brain and becomes a living hell. Not even a devilish person. Well, this young girl uses her past as a way to give herself the comfort with ephemeral freedom.

On the that wretched day, when she was hurled into the her horrid life, her eyes filled with tears and her lungs screamed with incoherent cries, for even as a new born she knew she had something no one wanted. Her father, her own damn father, tore her from sanity and beauty by implanting a demon in her tiny body. Taking away her future was still not enough for him. He had to take away her family too. He had lied to her devastated mother when he told her that their daughter died at birth. He was responsible for all of this pain and frustration just so he could do experiments on her and make her a weapon. He would try to do to justify his crime in a few heartless words, "So what if you are cursed? So is the whole damn world. You are nothing special."
Twelve years had passed since the day her father took her.

On her birthday, God saved the child from her tormentor. As if God was trying to say, "sorry" nonchalantly. The type of spiteful sorry that little child says when he is angry. A destructive ability to punish her father after what he did to his child. Even though the scientist doesn't believe what he is doing is wrong. He believes he is doing good for him and everyone else. On the day of her birthday her father died. Her birth became his end. Now she is living on her own with no but the shadow, all because God took the one person in her life. This shadow belonged to the demon inside her. The shadow looks like a normal human, that could change his form and still look like that he changes into, but in Maria's eyes she knows he's a demons shadow. This child did not even know how to read, write or how to speak properly. She doesn't even know what emotions are. Due to her father neglecting her when she cried as a baby, didn't help her when she was hurt. So her emotions died and ever since she was 3 she hasn't cried from sadness or pain. All she knew was to just smile. Seizing the chance to gain a mindless pone he could grow into a knight to fight against God, Luci decided to help her. To make her as perfect as he once was. Two years passed from that day and the young girl has now learned and become this delicate and perfect girl. Who now only knows one emotion, happiness.

This young girls name is, Maria Light. Age 15, born February 14 XXXX, and from the day she was born on, she will be the girl who has been cursed.

It was a cloudy afternoon. The sun was peeking through the clouds. Maria was at a small deserted library. The light that emerged from the clouds shinned through the smashed windows and the broken ceiling. She was quietly reading some books. Some about the human body, fantasies, and even history books. As she was reading a drop of water hit the top of her head. The drop of water sliding down the roof of her head down her long, golden blonde hair. Time was going by very slow. Only hearing the click of the clock and the little drops of water that hitting around the library.

Hours passed, Maria finishing around 20 book. Once she finished the last page of her last book, she grabbed a pile of them and started walking around. Putting the books back. As she was  putting one of the books back, using a ladder to put the books on the semi high self, she noticed something shinny on one of the dusty shelves. Being curious of what it was, the young blonde grabbed the ladder she was using and moved it over to the book self that had the shinny object. She noticed that the ladder was unstable as she climbed farther on the ladder. Also noticing this book self was unstable which she found peculiar.

As she climbed the ladder a creaking sound ran through out the silent library. Going up the ladder slowly now. Being cautious as she climbed up. Getting higher and higher until she reached the now silver looking object. It was a watch, a handheld pocket watch. Picking up, not feeling any dust on the handheld pocket watch. As she held the watch in her hand she felt the book shelf, along with the ladder, start to shake. Becoming frightened, Maria was unable to move. Hearing the sound of wood breaking, she looked down and saw that the ladder was breaking.

Seeing that the ladder was breaking, she rushed down the ladder fast, but moved to fast. Her foot broke one of the steps, causing her to fall off the ladder and fly through the air. As she was falling, something, or someone, jumped up and grabbed her as she fell. When the bookshelf fell, the noise rang through the library. Now it not being as silent. The crash of the bookshelf shook the building. Some of the ceiling falling down and crashed onto the marble floor, tables and other bookshelves. Maria looked up and knew who this mysterious person was. It was Luci, her shadow demon. He set her onto her feet and looked at her. "Mistress you must be careful. What would have happened if I didn't catch you? You could have hit the other bookcase and made over a dozen of them fall over and they could have crush your body." Luci lectured her for around twenty minutes. Maria always got lectures from Luci. He wanted her to be perfect like his demon self was. Or his version of perfect. After he placed Maria on her feet and burned her hands. She clenched her fists together, gripping the pocket watch that was still in her hands.

She was use to this. Luci would always burn her if she did something wrong or unintentional. Maria apologized and looked at the pocket watch. She wondered, who would have left this, and when? There was no dust on it nor any scratches. It was like it was brand new. Maybe it was a sign that someone was here before her. What if they were still here? So for precautions she walked back to her spot and opened her old leather messenger bag and placed the silver pocket watch into one of the pockets. Throwing the bag over her shoulder and started heading out of the library in a hurry. Luci changed into his shadow cat form and hopped onto Maria head. The clicks of her shoes echoed through out the library. As she left the library, being the respectful person she is, she looked back at the building once she was far enough from it. Bowing then walking to the right. Although she felt bad she left the library in shambles she had to hurry out of the abandoned town. Luci told her that people are hunting her down from her fathers science team and they wanna capture her again and do more "tests."

As she walked down the path out of town, Maria saw someone as she walked by. Being cautious, she walked quickly passed the stranger. Once she got close enough this stranger grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards them. Luci hiding in her long, luscious hair so this person wouldn't see him. Once Maria looked up, ready to demand that this person lets her go, she noticed something. This stranger was a man, but this man had a dark feeling about him. His face and hands covered in blood. Luci stayed hidden in her hair, talking to himself in a whisper. "Now Mistress, lets see how you do in this kind of situation."

Fear shocked through her body. Gripping her hands into fists. She looked at this mans other hand and noticed he had a machete. Maria was in to much shock, not knowing what to do. The fear made her stiff, unable to move, but that fear did something. "Such a lovely girl, too bad it'll be a waist," the man said in a devilish tone. In that instant he struck Maria with the machete. Cutting the left side of her body, but without realizing she struck as well. A loud thud ran down the quiet town. What happened? Was it Maria who made that thud or was it the man? The demon that is locked inside her activated when it felt threatened. Killing the man. But how? How could she kill him without any weapons? But that is what her specialty is. She is a balance of darkness and pure light. And with that, her weapons were dual blades. Maria dropped to her knees not knowing what happened, all she knows is that she is safe. Luci sighed, not liking how things went down. "I'll make a warrior out of you yet," he said. Jumping out of her hair and changing back into a human shadow. He picked her up and carried her on his back. Luci looked down at the dead body, slowly walking towards it. Stepping on the dead man's head and proceeding on with walking. Once he got far enough from the town, he looked back and groaned. "The trash demons will eat him," he said with a devilish tone. Turning around and kept on walking to their next destination.
