Throughout the years, theme parks have really been a craze. Places like Six Flags or Disney World were really popular, especially with the kids. However there's a tale of a theme park that wasn't in the vein of these others. Not because it wasn't popular, but of the dark history behind it.
An unknown company, of course, had the idea of another theme park. However, they wanted it to be even bigger than the other theme parks, so it can be boosted in popularity. They had a lot of blueprints and concepts for what rides they could make, what places could be in the park, etc.
And thus began the construction. It seemed to be going well in their case. One could say that it would be a smash hit.But someone from their team, didn't want it to be just a plain old theme park. They wanted something that could get kids really itching to go... animal mascots.
Theme park mascots aren't really that common in this age. Of course you have things like Disney World and Hershey's Park, but for the most part, that's really it. So they had to lay out a couple of ideas for what kind of mascots to make.
There was a fox, a wolf, a bear, and a rabbit. The company thought that the fox, wolf and bear would be too unsettling for the kids. So they ultimately decided on the rabbit. And then, they went to designing it.
The rabbit would have yellow fur, big floppy ears, a smile with two buck teeth, some cartoony looking shoes, and a purple bow tie. There were scrapped designs however. For instance, one wanted to make it blue with a red bow tie, but it was decided that it'd be too similar to another rabbit idea.
Then, after the designing was completed and approved, came the process of trying to figure out what to do with this mascot.
One person just wanted to slap it onto the advertisements and call it a day, but false advertisement really can hurt the kids who would like this character. So they wanted it to go around the park and greet the guests, because of this, they had to make some form of suit.It was tested on the employees, but they said it was too restrictive in movement, even to the ones who don't hold much weight. They ended up with a last resort, making it a fully functional animatronic.
While being unknown how they were found, the company did have endoskeletons, which would be used on the suit for the mascot to move around.
After a while of testing the sizes and articulation of the endoskeleton...The mascot was finished, dubbed Lucky The Rabbit.
Lucky was made to be a cheerful rabbit. He'd greet the members of the park, partake in photos, and a lot more. It seemed that it would be really popular.
However, just one mascot wouldn't do justice. Maybe a whole gang of animals would be really exciting. So it was back to the designing board. The other two mascots had an odd theme of farm animals, or at least that's what it looked like to the other employees.
One of them being a pig, a pig that liked ribs a little too much. He even had a big shirt that said "I ❤️ Ribs" to show.
He was dubbed Hangry The Pig.His personality would consist of a lot of hunger. He even had his own attraction where you would feed him ribs.
The other was a chicken. Unlike Hangry and Lucky, there wasn't any defining features about her.
She was dubbed Penny The Chicken. She'd also greet the guests alongside Lucky, and do basically everything else he does.
And thus... Joy Joy Land was ready to open its gates.
Another theme park featuring fun animal mascots, a ton of rides and a Joy Joy good time.
Or at least that would be the case...
