This is @thezestywalru idea. He said he wasn't gonna write, so I went ahead and made it a one-shot. All credit to zesty. Now, ON WITH THE STORY!!!
3rd Person
The sweet son of Demeter walked through the flourishing garden that was decorated with fruits and flowers. His eyes, as green as oak tree leaves, scanned the garden for a new fruit. He then spotted a pomegranate, fruit of the underworld.
As he thought of this, his mind wandered to the heir of the underworld, Erica. A peculiar name, yes, but so was his. Benjamin was very peculiar to the time, but the gods called him Persephone instead.
Erica was the breathtaking princess of the underworld. She had eyes that could stop you dead in your tracks if you offended her. Her blue iris helped with her glares, also. She had black hair that was darker than the night sky, just like her father's.
As she turned 15 more gods starting noticing her, and he was no exception. Many of the gods, including Hephaestus and Dionysus, had tried to take her as their bride. Each time one of them proposed the idea, they were shut down by Hades being the protective father he is. He, himself wanted to try to win over the girl's heart, but feared the worst when he thought about it. He wasn't sure if Hades would approve; why should he? He had turned away every other god, why would he have a chance?
Yet, even as he stirred this up in his mind, he decided that he was going to ask permission from Hades. Even if it may be a bit (ok a lot) dangerous, he would risk it. So he was settled, tomorrow at midday he would ask for her hand.
(Timeskip) THE POWER OF MYTHOLOGY!!!! (Ben's POV)
I stood nervously at the gates of his palace. It was decorated with skulls on top of its windows and withered flowers marked the outline of the path and door. The wails of those in the Fields of Punishment could be heard here. There were vividly sculpted tombstones is this so-called front yard. As I approached them I saw the name of heroes: Heracles, Perseus, Jason, and many others. Their were chained up dogs, that were barking furiously and the sound of scratching didn't help either.
"Is thy to stand at my house without greeting its master?" A deep voice bellowed, with a poisonous edge. I turned around to meet dark purple eyes staring into my soul.
I stood straight, staring right back at him. "And thy master of thy house shall not come out to welcome its visitor?" I returned.
He smiled slightly, and his eyes crinkled a bit. "It has been a long time, my friend. For what is your business here, in the underworld?" He asked. He sounded as friendly as the god of death could sound like, and let me tell you it is a very friendly tone.
I grinned at him, my green eyes dancing with joy to see an old friend.
"I have no business. Is it not allowed to visit an old friend?" I questioned in a playful tone.
"Well, thy did trespass in my garden." He said flatly, moving his head towards a vine I had damaged a bit earlier.
I winced and laughed awkwardly, "yeah, sorry about that." I responded.
"No worries, Benjamin. I never liked where it was placed anyways." He stated, as he snapped his finger. In a second, the vine was gone and was replaced by a ghostly looking tree with black wood at white painted leaves.
"Come on in." Hades said, opening the gate looking door into a quite hum-drum looking house. And there she stood, reading a thick book with a lock hanging from its cover. "Erica! I told I don't want to see that book again. It's from the humans!" Hades roared, fuming.
"Not my fault their books are interesting." She replied quite calmly. She quickly locked the book and look up. Her eyes widened a bit when she saw me, but quickly regained her cold and hardened look in her eyes.
Father, why is Persephone in our house at this time?" She asked. Her father smirked a bit and came back with a snarky reply that made her visibly annoyed. She then retreaded to her room, going up the creaky stairs.
Hades eyed me a bit before leading me to what supposedly was the living room. There were three book shelves on a wall and a few pictures of crystals and dead flowers accompanied it. There was a blood red carpet on the faded white floor. There were no windows, only a lightbulb hanging 6 feet in the air. This looked more like a run down funeral home basically.
"So, let me guess you are like the other gods and want to marry my daughter." He bluntly stated.
I was walking around, so when I heard this I was so surprised it walked into a wall. Yay, I just showed Hades I'm as clumsy as a giraffe on a unicycle. I quickly dusted myself off and looked into Hades eyes, who was currently glaring at me.
"I mean yes, you two are almost the same ages and both fill in each other's weak spots, but I am afraid I have to refuse. Erica is different, and I don't think you'll be able to support it," he looked at a picture of a blue picture. "Get out." He whispered abruptly.
I followed his request and exited the house and the underworld. I had and have no chance. Should've known, I am a god after all. I sighed at went back to the gardens of my humble house.
Demeter, my mother sat at the porch of the vine covered house. She looked at me with sympathy as I walked passed her. As soon as I got to my room, I started regretting my decision to even try. I groaned. Hades hates me now and that's that.
As soon as I was going to my garden, and idea clicked. Oh, and a good idea it was. The heir to the underworld would be my mate, just watch and see.
I walked through the garden with new found happinesses. This was gonna be great.
Sorry for not updating long, I was kinda depressed, and when you put a mask, on it is not easy to overcome. Hopefully you guys liked it, I will be posting a second part to just wait.
