  "Twelve minutes 'till Boothbay Harbor!"

  The driver called out.

The world outside the window moved slowly. Roads and houses and bushes. All of them passing by, probably never going to be seen by her again.

Her. How do I describe her? She looked to be about fifteen years old. She had strange violet eyes and was wearing an odd pin in her hair, which consisted of three purple crystals atop of a hairclip.

She had dark brown hair with golden tips. When asked about the ends of her hair she would swear up and down that it was dyed. She was lying through her teeth of course, but that wasn't a new thing to her. She could do it quite easily, actually.

She was dressed up in black dress pants and a purple vest. The vest matched nearly perfectly to the three long claw marks that ran over the right side of her face. The marks were unnatural looking, almost shiny, not to mention their odd coloring of purple, blue, and pink. 'A tattoo' she would claim. It was a falsehood, of course. But people will believe anything.

And lastly, she had necklace around her neck. It was in the shape of a golden rose. She never parted with the small treasure for even a moment. It was her comfort, there, around her neck always. For it contained a secret. One buried beneath the golden petals. A key, which might help her find something precious.

The young woman was sitting down, listening to the driver's call and patting her dog's head. To anyone else the ride was terribly boring, but the young woman was filled with excitement and nerves. As she concealed a slight tremor in her gloved hands, she thought of the possible changes to come.

Soon the bus slowed to a stop. The breaks squealed so loud it drowned out all thought.

  "Boothbay harbor!"

The brunette grabbed her suitcase and dog leash before making her way through the nearly deserted aisle. She thanked the driver for giving her safe -though noisy- passage.

As soon as her boots touched the pavement she began to walk. She knew where she was going. And Boothbay harbor was as close as the bus would take her.

It had since grown dark when the sign came into view. With her arms covered in goosebumps from the sharp chill in the air, the young woman pressed on.

The town was silent, almost peaceful. But as soon as she crossed by the sign, a wave of electricity passed over her. She grinned. The town itself didn't seem to like her.

Smart town. It was a wise decision not to trust Eclixia.

She was her father's daughter, after all
