"S-Sanji? How do you... know him?" I stammered, still trying to process.
"Huh?" The straw hat boy faced me, "Oii, who's this Nami?"
She sighed, "This is Y/n. Y/n meet this idiot, Luffy," she says as the boy was waving his hands at me.
"I'm Monkey D. Luffy! But you can call me Luffy," he grinned. And then, out of nowhere, he hit me with, "Become our Nakama!"
"Your... what?"
"Become our Naka-" he then was stopped from Nami leaning on his head. "Sorry about that Y/n. He tends to say that to anyone," she laughs while pulling Luffy's cheek.
"About.. the guy.. Sanji? How do you know him?" I asked
"Hm? Sanji?" Luffy adjusts his hat, "He's one of our nakamas."
I can't believe it.. the first thing I find out when coming to another country is this.. I might need to ditch them.. I can't let Sanji see me.. or he'll literally give me hell.
"It was nice meeting you Nami and Luffy. But I have to get going," giving them an honest smile.
"Oh okay, well if you want to hang out again, you can always come to our secret lair over there by the alley," she says, pointing in the direction.
riight.. just tell a stranger where you live..
I nodded and turned around but I halted. "Oh right.. how do I get back to the hotel?"
She chuckles, "Follow me."
"I'll see you later, Y/n!! If you change your mind, just come back to this arcade, I'm always here," he said as he waved his hand goodbye.
I waved back, "Sure."
As we walked, Nami turned to me. "Do you know Sanji?"
I panicked a little. "Oh, no! His name just sounded familiar."
"Well, we are pretty famous around here." She sighed dramatically. "I bet Zoro and Sanji are fighting again at the shack."
"Who?"
"Zoro and Sanji. They're constantly trying to one-up each other, seeing who's stronger. It's exhausting having to break up their macho contests."
"Zoro? Is that... Robin's husband or something?"
"Oh yeah? How do you know Robin?"
"well.. she is my teacher at my Academy"
"Seriously? Wow, small world. How's she doing?"
"Intimidating as ever," I replied, thinking back to Robin's death stares during lectures.
"Yup, that sounds like our Robin!" Nami laughed. "It's still a little depressing that our sweet Robin wound up with that slob."
...We then parted our ways. "Here's my stop, thanks Nami-san."
She then leans in for a quick hug.I'm not.. really the touchy person so.. I patted her back instead of hugging her.
See ya, Y/N," she said, walking off.
I turned to the towering hotel and spotted Hancock, the empress herself, standing outside, wrapped in a coat with a perfectly neutral expression. Oh no. I quickly hid the gift I'd bought and approached her.
"Uh... hey, Hancock. What are you doing here?""I was about to come looking for you, but I see why you were too preoccupied to check how late you were," she adds as she walks past me and inside the hotel.
She sounds mad. "Sorry! I don't even own a wristwatch... or a phone... or, you know, anything that tells time."
"It's fine," she said with a sigh, clearly annoyed. "Who was that girl?"" she asked as we got on the elevator.
"Oh.. just some girl I met."
"Oh? So you embrace girls you simply met on the streets?" she hisses while getting off the elevator.
"You sound a bit hissy there. What's the problem?"
She sighed, "Nothing. I apologize for raising my tone there. It was partly my fault for telling you to check out this place when I had forgotten you didn't have any electronic devices with you."
"Here." she says handing me a bag. I glanced at her and she appeared to be looking away.
I blinked. Did.. she get me a gift??
I opened the bag, and holy crap. I think the bag literally sparkled. Inside was a brand-new phone, and not just any phone—it looked like it cost more than my entire existence.
"W-wait, what is this?!" I asked, half-laughing in disbelief.
"It's a phone. Unless you somehow can't recognize one," she replied, rolling her eyes like I was the dumbest person in the world.
"No, duh, but this is hella expensive! You didn't have to—"
"Well, I did," she responded cynically, "so Merry Christmas."
I stood there, feeling more awkward than ever. She got me a phone. And what did I get her? A gift that I didn't even know what it was because Nami picked it out. Oh no... this was going to be embarrassing.
"What's that behind you?" She asked her gaze fixed on the back of my hand.
"Uh... this? It's... um... nothing!" I quickly shoved it into my shirt, hoping to bury it along with my dignity
She lifts up her brow, "Y/n? Did you get one for me as well?"
I began blinking my eyes discreetly, "N-no! Of course not. I mean.. my money.. cant-,"
I sighed ".. yes it was for you.. BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER. It's not really.. the kind of stuff you're into," I nervously chuckled.
"Y/n. You know I don't care whether you think it's not suitable for my taste or whatnot. You bought it for me. That's merely enough for me," she says with a smile. I think my heart just skipped a beat again..
I handed her the bag, turning away to avoid watching her open it. I was ready to jump out the nearest window if this went south.
Then I heard giggling.
I peeked back and saw her looking inside the bag, amusement all over her face. "What?" I asked, confused.
She then brought the stuff that was inside the bag and my jaw fell, it was a damn lingerie-style nightgown.
My face turned fifty shades of red.
She chuckles, "I didn't know you were into that Y/n," she says with the most huskiest voice ever. If I ever was a boy, I would have had multiple boners with this woman.
