He looked at her with rounded eyes and mouth, agape. He was not expecting to be invited inside by the person who was hostile and slammed a door in front of his face moments ago.

She looks back at him again looking for a response. She stood by the door contemplating her actions. Slowly, she is starting to feel the butterflies in her stomach. Her right hand is tightly gripping the door handle to refrain herself from pressing her lower lip.

Despite what she is feeling, she didn't want to show this man any weakness that might cause her disadvantages later on. His eyes reverts back to normal and his mouth closes after a while.

This is a bit suspicious.

He narrow's his eyes on her only to see her standing motionlessly by the door looking directly at him. His gaze seem to have trigged something on her as her eyes quickly widen before glaring at him. Maybe it was her puffy cheeks, or her pout, that he saw that made him amused by her.

Under the heavy pour from the sky, he slowly opened his mouth.

"Sure!" He smiled brightly at her which caught her off guard. She looked at him with a widened eyes as he slowly approach her door.

As he arrive in front of her doorway, he cleared his throat and looked at her expectantly because she was instinctively blocking it.

"O-Oh..." She blinked rapidly before stepping back to make way from him. This made him smile once more.

After he stepped inside, he was greeted by a cozy living room with furnitures made of cherry wood and flooring made of red oak.

Looking around the place, he saw a purple flower and liquid in a vial resting on a shelf in a far corner and a fire place of stone with burning wood inside of it, tempting him with its warmth.

"You-" Seeing his gaze on the blazing fire, she wanted to invite him over the fire place however she was interrupted by the growling sound.

"That's me." The man said as he turns his head towards her with a dry laugh.

"I... forgot to eat lunch." He looking away.

This made a small smile form in her lips. Her tensed shoulders finally fell down as she lets out a soft sigh.

"You can sit in front of the fire. I'll see what food is available."

"Oh no. It's not-!" Before he can even finish his words, the woman has already gone on another room of the house.

"-necessary." He narrowed his eyes on the location she has gone thru and pouted his lips.

"Why is this woman not letting me finish speaking?" The man mumbles before going in front of the fire place.

He frowns on the chunk of wood and small uneven pieces of it scattered on the floor. His sight landed on a small blade resting on a chair near the door.

Carving?

He slowly seated few inches from the wood on the floor and enjoyed the fire.

"This is the only thing that's left." The woman comes back from the kitchen with a small amount of food.

"I'm sor-" She raises her gaze from the wooden plate to look at her visitor. Her eyes widens at the sight of the man, his upper garment are unworn with only his bare skin shown.

His chest and toned abdomen are highlighted by the bright light of the fire as he leans back. The muscles on his arms are emphasized as he uses them to support his weight. Droplets of water run down from his messy light hair.

His dark eyes stares at the blaze as its light reflecting on to his eyes. Upon hearing her sudden pause, he turned his gaze towards her and quickly realize her reason.
