After that night, Sam drove me to College after Monday morning pancakes, "Now, sweetheart, I've had an email that Poppy, who sits next to you has dropped the course, so I'm going to redo the seating plan because I don't want my baby girl to be lonely,"

"Is she okay?" I asked, gazing over at him, the sunrise looking like magic.

"Yes, baby, and I'm sure you'll still see her around but she was finding maths pretty hard,"

"Yeah, that makes sense, who will I be next to?"

"Well the boy next to Oliver has dropped Maths as well, so I was thinking you two could sit together?"

"Okays, he seems nice,"

Turns out, he is nice, he's funny and kind and he doesn't make me feel dumb when I ask for help. He's in the rather talkative popular group of the class, but he still has moments where he'll talk quietly just to me. It makes me laugh when his floppy hair falls in his eyes or when his mum rings 5 times a lesson. It's nice, I feel less lonely.

Oliver invited me to eat with him in the dinner hall, normally I'd find that terrifying, but he promised to buy me chocolate. "Isla, can I see you for a moment?" I looked up to find Sam staring hard at Oliver and nodded.

"Guess I owe you for another time," Oliver joked, his hand nudging my shoulder, "You know, Sam asks you to stay behind a lot, he seems kind of obsessed with you,"

"W-what? No, not at all, I-i just promised I'd help with the open day, that's all, I'll see you later, Oliver," He nodded begrudgingly, turning down the corridor and before I could turn around a pair of arms were wrapped around me.

"I missed you, baby." Sam sighed, snuggling into my neck as he sat us down at his desk.

"I've been sat in your class for an hour, silly," I giggled, pushing him away from my neck, where it was beginning to tickle.

He nodded, sitting up and putting on a more serious face, "How do you like Oliver?" He asked.

"Oh he's very nice to me, thank you for making sure I'm not lonely,"

"If you want to eat with him and spend time with people your age, I'd understand, I don't want to hold you back, you're under no obligation to me," He seemed to be getting louder and moving further away, I reached out, grabbing his arm.

"I like spending time with you, Sam," I reminded, pulling him closer.

"I think he likes you, baby, in the way that I like you, and he's probably a lot better for you,"

I looked down, processing his words, was he saying he didn't want to see me anymore, am I too young? "Oh, can I decide?"

"Of course, baby, I'm just scared of what the answer might be,"

"There is only one answer, only one option, only one person who's ever made me feel anything, you, Sam,"

He was very still, then his arms encased me and I saw a huge grin on his face, "I'm so happy you said that baby, I don't want you to feel you have to, I know I'm your teacher but I would never use this as a reason to jeopardise your education, I just want to you to be happy, I guess seeing you two laughing all lesson, I guess I got a little jealous,"

"You were jealous of me?" I giggled, shaking my head in disbelief

"Of course, you're the most perfect babygirl anyone could ask for,"

"I spend everyday surrounded by girls who call you the hottest teacher on campus, I think I'm the one who should be jealous,"

"Princess there is no one but you, but I am going to move your seat again, I don't want to hate any of my students, but I have become very possessive over my little angel,"

"I love it, you make me feel so cared for, Cutie Pi," I giggled, falling into his embrace.
