We had come home from the mall not long after we had lunch. Some fans saw James and Luke, so just before things got hectic; we got the hell out of there.

“Yes, I won’t tell a soul!” I promised, as they both nodded and walked into James’s house. Of course I was referring to the prank that we were currently planning. If things went well, this prank was going to be epic.

I opened the door; the kitchen still had bowels on the counter, and my bread which was definitely hard and cold by now, was still stood in the toaster.

I rolled my eyes, before chucking the bread out and cleaning up Beau’s bowel of cereal.

I made my way into my room before taking my phone out of my pocket. I was yet to turn it on. I had been distracted all day that I hadn’t bothered to switch the phone on, instead just slipping it into my pocket. When it came on, it indicated that I had 1 new message:

From: Mona xx

Haley! Urgent! Can I come over? x

Sent: 3:42pm Saturday February 15

I glanced at the clock on my wall. 4:09pm.

To: Mona xx

Sure! Come any time you like! x

Sent: 4:10pm Saturday February 15

I didn’t get a reply, but 20 minutes later there was a knock on the front door.

I skidded down the hallway, socks and tiles could be pretty dangerous!

I opened the door to see Mona smiling brightly.

I held a hand to my chest. “Oh good! I thought something bad had happened!” I breathed.

She frowned, “And how do you know that it’s not something bad?”

“Because of the way you were smiling when I opened the door.”

Her smile returned and she let out a small and relatively quiet squeal.

“Okay! Now I’m excited! Get in here!” I ushered her in.

She walked in and I closed the door behind her.

“Nice house.” She admired.

“Yeah, yeah! Get to it!” I said, plopping down on the couch.

She grinned again and sat down, bouncing on the balls of her feet.

“Well?! What is it?” I laughed.

“Okay,” She turned serious then, but never dropped the smile. “So, Jai asked me out.” And then she squealed again. I was a little shocked to join in, but a massive grin lit up my face.

“What? Really? When did this happen?” I asked, leaning forward and propping my chin into my hands.

“Well you know when you came up and defended me from Clara? It was that day. When you walked away to your roll-call, he gave me his number and told me to text or call if Clara or anyone else gave me any trouble.”

She looked up at me, pausing before continuing on with the story.

“Since then we’ve been texting each other. At first it was just a little, but as time went by we began to consistently text each other. We would just talk about the silliest things, nothing serious. But then today he asked me if I wanted to go to the movies with him.”
