i recommended to please read this and do not skip it!!

this is gonna be a long one

so im just gonna clarify a few things

— idk if i mentioned how older coach ukai was from y/n but let's just say it's 9. i'll change it later when i edit this whole book.

— please do remember that y/n entered school A YEAR younger since elementary and entered high school on the actual grade she was supposed to be in because she went to high school a year after she graduated from middle school and she was ONE GRADE LEVEL younger than Oikawa instead of 2 in elementary and middle school.

they are NOT IN THE SAME GRADE LEVEL and Oikawa started school a year later so he was supposed to enter 2nd Grade at 9 but i won't provide a story/reason why he entered late. this is just for the sake of the plot

— i also modified the ages for when they entered school so for references:

Y/N's age- grade level - Oikawa's age

7 - 1st grade

8 - 2nd grade - 10

9 - 3rd grade -11

10 - 4th grade - 12

11- 5th grade - 13

12 - 6th grade - 14

13 - 1st MidSchool - 15

14 - 2nd MidSchool - 16

15 - 3rd MidSchool - 17

1st high school - 18

if u want to understand this, look at the ages diagonally. example Y/N is 8 while Oikawa is 11.

— schools in japan usually end in late march and starts in late april. Y/N's age is the age she entered school since her birthday is in February which is a month before her current school year ends and a couple of months before the new school year starts. so example, she entered 1st-year middle school at 13 but it ended when she was 14

— Things went to shit when she turned 16 then went on hiatus from school until June next year where she was already 17 and as a 1st year HS. she'll be turning 18 on February 14, a month after Karasuno went to nationals so that means she'll be 18 as a second year. They broke up at the end of Oikawa's 1st year in HS

—     Y/N and Oikawa's relationship was not 'puppy love' or 'infatuation', it was real love *internally cringing because of the term lmao*

Real love is when you break down each other's walls and really, deeply understand that person as much as you do yourself. Puppy love, you love spending time with the person and they make you laugh and happy but you can't truly love them because you only know them on the surface. the two were best friends who were there for each other at their best and maybe, not always at their worst but the fact that they truly loved each other still remains since, in Y/N's case, she loved Tooru for a few years before she realized her feelings, however, Oikawa, on the other hand, loved her since they were kids but only confirmed them/knew he really did fell when he started to become more affectionate towards Y/N

— also, I know I mentioned before or in my other books how I aged up Y/N because I don't like the idea of kissing at a young age, I needed to do it for chapter 30.3 because I had to for its main purpose, and if that scene now pains you, then I rest my case :))

— If you do not like the idea that they got together when Y/N was thirteen and she fell for him at 12, I strongly suggest ignoring that fact because

1) it's only for the plot;

2) it is stated that they were both mature enough, seeing Y/N's personality;

and 3) their age gap is only 3 years and the age for consent in Japan is 13.

I may have used my country's legal age for drinking chapter 29 but in this instance, I will use Japan's consent age which is 13. Plus, they aren't doing anything sexual so I don't think this is even necessary.

Also, if you consider their relationship when Y/N was 15 and Oikawa was 18 as child grooming or child exploitation, please do know that they DID NOT do anything sexual or abusive and were simply just in a relationship that became unhealthy. Child Grooming is when a person engages in predatory conduct to prepare a child or young person for sexual activity at a later time.

And NONE OF THAT OCCURRED OR WILL OCCUR IN THIS BOOK.

tbh, personally, i didn't like the thought of them getting together when Y/N was 13, it personally made me uncomfy, but that was in my opinion. i tried my best to make Y/N at least 14 but it would change a lot of major things in this book since her entering karasuno at 17 is a very, very important fact.

I guess I'm just saying this now just in case someone gets confused abt it or decides to come at me for it. wattpad is a scary place to write in now that everything you do must have an explanation so yeah, just in case ;)

sorry if these chapters took so long, i had a lot of shit holding me back and it just keeps on coming but i'll try to finish this book in the first quarter of 2022
