The sound of people chattering was all that could be heard as the two boys sat idly against each other. The only escape they got from the place was rooftops that, upon first glance, looked like they could barely handle their own weight, but only to be later dissolved with how many times the two came up here to look at the stars, while the other fell asleep next to them.
He sat there, staring idly at the bright lights of the city that was so distant from the temporary safe haven they were in, yet so close as he inhaled. They were on the run from people who put him in there as a means to an end, and never looked back, as much as it seemed that it was better than the two other choices he was offered, and it meant a fresh start, as restrictive as it was. God how wrong he was about holding his breath in the hopes he could get away from the real world and the pain stirring in his chest. Nothing had really changed from this world and the one he was 'lawfully' kicked out from, on a rule that had been dangerously broken so many times that it was almost part of the law itself. He, like the other body he was so close to, had done nothing wrong in both worlds, both victims of a death they were unaware of. But had defended one another to stop a fight, but just like the same world, it always had eyes on them first before he was able to say anything, defend himself or even prove a point with his reasoning before they were using their two feet to once more, run to somewhere more secluded, secure and away from it all. But it never got to the point where he could finally breathe and calm his racing heart, it was always still pounding in his chest from the thought that the body next to him and his own self once more would have to get up and run from the people who had nothing but the intention of wiping the two off the world because they had caught on with what they were doing. Not willing to hear any other reasonings other than proving with no evidence that they were guilty to begin with. It was only just a means to an end for the people who knew the law was set to fail, but still exploited it at every opportunity.
Moving his arms closer against the male body as he placed a peppered kiss on his head, he sat there, questioning why they were chosen. Why was it two completely harmless and innocent people, and even in thought, more than likely even more than the two that roamed the place, and whatever this was. Moving a hand along the male's stomach, he stopped in a sudden questioning thought, slowly moving his hand back from where it was, letting the bare amount of glistening moonlight cross his arm as he held it up and traced along his forearm. Scars from the fights, battles and all looking for a sight that no longer hurt, but once bruised so well it hurt in every sense of the way. The sudden realization as to why they had been on the run, why the two, in secret shared fears and possible realizations that could be true about the world around them came hurtling down out of nowhere as he gently did the same with his lover's arm. Lifting it as he traced along the forearm in the same manner as he too, realized it was all in the same place that he had it done. And that, one of the fears that had so easily been dismissed in their banter in the hopes none of it was reflected here.
They were being tracked.
"Hey, we need to get up, we gotta go see that doctor" The male exclaimed to the sleeping body "And hopefully it's not too late"
