Damon + Stefan's revised backstory

Renegade sons of an Italian Immigrant and Colony Settler Woman.

Born in Virginia.

Their father was abusive, however Stefan didn't know this as Damon always made sure to protect his little brother from harm.

They always snuck out to play with the less fortunate kids and snuck food to the slaves.

When they were older and the war effort got bigger they helped slaves escape to the anti-slavery States that surrounded them like West Virginia.

Soon they met with Katherine, Damon tried to woo her and succeeded, getting together with her.

Their father found out about their freedom fighting and decided to stop it by sending Damon to fight for the confederacy and kept Stefan locked away in their home. The only visitor allowed to visit Stefan was Katherine who managed to slowly compel and manipulate Stefan into liking her.
Whilst in the war effort, Damon sabotaged the confederacy from the inside.

Secretly giving information to the other side and throwing battles.
This worked until he got injured in one battle and had to be sent home. He went home with an honourable discharge.

When Damon got home he realised that Katherine had cheated on him with his brother. Damon became angry with the two but was soon stopped by Katherine who compelled him to be okay with it and she used the two for her own personal gain.

Katherine soon was found to be a vampire and was trapped in the church. Due to being compelled and use as puppets Damon and Stefan tried to save her.

Seeing that the two brothers were in kahoots with a Vampire their father shot them.

Due to being healed by Katherine previously, as they were hurt in one of her games of chase and she wanted to play some more, they had vampire blood in their system.
After they died they were revived as vampires and Katherine, who they thought was dead in the church, was long gone.

Stefan couldn't control the urge and drank human blood. Damon however layed there waiting to die. Unfortunately for him, Stefan forced him to drink the blood of the same human he did, killing the person and transforming Damon.

Stefan's reason for this was because he was scared and desperately wanted the comfort and safety his brother gave him. However, due to the enhanced emotions that came with the new fond vampirism, Damon became bitter and sour. And even if he didn't admit it he was scared. So he ran from Stefan after promising to make the rest of his immortal life hell.

The upset, terrified and now seemingly brotherless Stefan went to his father hoping for guidance. However he was greeted by a stake and ended up accidently killing his father in self defence.

Stefan filled with more fear ran away and as he was unable to control himself and his guilt he became a ripper.

Even though he promised to make Stefan's life hell, he still loved his brother so he watched over him and cleaned up his messes so he wouldn't get caught.

After Stefan seemed to be able to clean up his own messes, aka when he flipped the switch, Damon stopped looking after him and became nomadic. Wandering around, drinking, having sex and trying to forget the past. Even though him and Stefan and him were manipulated be Katherine his heart couldn't help but ache for her as, unlike Stefan, he was actually in love with her before hand.

Damon + Enzo's revised Backstory

When Damon was back at the Salvatore house he didn't know he would be ambushed and taken to Augustine.

When he was there he met a man named Lorenzo StJohn who quickly became his only sanity in the horrifying lab.

Slowly, over the years, they fell in love and the came up with a plan to escape.

Unfortunately Damon wasn't able to save Enzo. Enzo sadly knew he was doomed when they discovered the vervain bars.

Enzo pulled Damon's face through the gap, kissed him and pushed him away telling him to get out. With fire then separating the two Damon had no choice but to leave and the from then to the present Damon flicked the switch and went on a multiple decade bender. Which leads to modern day.

Lorenzo StJohn revised backstory

Lorenzo was a peasant born in the streets of London. His mother died of TB and his father was a wealthy nobleman who wanted nothing to do with him.

One day Enzo had enough and threw himself off the Thames to drown in the murky gross water below. Instead of the death he was wishing for he was revived by a vampire and shipped off to America to make a new life for himself.

Later on in his time in America he was discovered and captured. Then tested on by scientists. He nearly gave up before Damon came along. But was soon left alone again and continuously tortured.

Until the present.
