Sayuri and the rest of the captees were forced to stand on metal platforms, and the gags from their mouths were released. She licked her chapped lips and continued to struggle against the rope bindings, ignoring the burning of the fibers against her skin.

"Are you okay, Princess?" Bolin yelled.

"I'm okay," she replied. "What about you?"

"Great, all things considered."

"Shut up!" A mustached guard yelled, pointing a lightning rod at them. Blue electricity zapped across the metal, and it shone brightly in the dim basement that they were being kept in.

Sayuri glared at the older man, and man whacked her with the rod, sending another jolt of electricity through her. She screamed in pain and Bolin tried to run to her, but was stopped by another equalist.

The door to the room opened and a masked man came in. In the center of the forehead was a red circle, and the mask was further decorated with red and beige, with black lined accents. It was Amon.

A hood obscured the back of his head and his footfalls echoed heavily throughout the room. He stopped in front of his captives and inspected them carefully. His shadowed eyes landed on the princess and he took a step forward. His hand shot out and he cupped her face, tilting it slightly to get a better look at her.

"Who caught her?" he asked, not looking away from the princess.

"Sen and his team, Amon." The mustached man replied.

Amon nodded and glanced at Bolin, before stepping onto a rectangular platform with his high upper officers. The ceiling above them opened, and a booming voice filled the room.

"Please welcome your hero, your savior, Amon!"

The platform rose and they disappeared from sight. No sooner had the ceiling closed, did the benders try to fight their way to freedom, but they were quickly struck down by lightning to the ribs.

They could hear Amon's story of the firebender who attacked his family and scarred him, and they could hear the heavy cheers and boos of the crowd. After his spiel on how bending was evil, and the true cause of suffering for humankind, he continued to ramble on saying how the spirits chose him to purge the world of bending.

Sayuri quickly put everything together and she began tugging at the rope faster. He was going to take everyone's bending away. Equalists grabbed a hold of them began leading up the stairs and towards the blinding stage.

"Please welcome, "Lightning Bolt" Zolt, leader of the Triple Threat Triad, and one of the most notorious criminals in Republic City."

Amon pointed to the rest of his captives, giving them a short introduction, and one he reached Sayuri, the crowd had become restless.

"And here we have Crown Princess Sayuri of the Fire Nation. Granddaughter of Fire Lord Zuko and daughter of Fire Lord Izumi. It was her great-grandfather, Fire Lord Ozai, that was responsible for the suffering of millions and destruction of nations worldwide."

The crowd began yelling profanities and the masked man walked away. While he introduced Bolin, Sayuri reflected on Amon's words and she felt her blood boil. She knew that she came from a bloodied family, she knew of Ozai's sadistic nature, and it angered her when people brought it up. She was nothing like him, she took after her grandmother Mai, and a few traits from her beloved grandfather, but that was it.

The rope around Zolt was loosened and he was tossed to the ground. Amon looked out at the crowd and yelled. "Now, in the interest of fairness, I will give Zolt the chance to fight to keep his bending."
