Earth-Born? What does that mean? He's obviously referring to me, and I've heard the flower that mimics space called me by strange titles before, but this is the first time I've been referred to as "The Earth-Born".

"What do you mean "Earth-Born"?", I asked the creature.

The strange being tilted it's head to the right, seemingly confused about my question.

"She hasn't told you yet? Strange. I was sure she would have told you something so important by now.", it said.

"Fucking tell me, don't dart around the question!", I yelled.

"Ah, there's that prickly attitude she told us about. How amusing that the son of such a calm being harbours rage comparable to the burning Sun.", it responded.

-3rd POV-

Despite having no facial features, it was easy to tell that it was amused. It's chest went up and down, as if laughing heartily at a joke, and it faced down, similar to one who was laughing and looked down to the floor as they did so. The eerie part was that despite this, no sound came from the creature.

It's laughter stopped as it felt its metallic bonds grow tighter, starting to crush its legs and face. Looking up, it saw the boy with his outstretched hand in a "claw" gesture, like he was about to completely close his hand into a fist.

"Give me a straight answer, or I'll crush your legs and face completely. Even if that doesn't kill you, this whole cave is made of earth related materials. You would be fighting me in my element. So I suggest you start making sense.", Chikyu said.

"And there is the side she was afraid of. Very well, you will get your answers. You might want to sit down, this could take a while. Might I also request that you release your hold on my bonds?"

"Not a fucking chance."

"*sigh* Very well."

Chikyu raised a crude seat of stone from behind him and sat on it, but kept his hands in the "claw" gesture, ready to completely close his fist and crush the creature's limbs at a moment's notice.

-Chikyu POV-

"So, would you like me to start at the beginning, or would you like me to give you a very basic explanation of things?", the creature asked.

Mom and her team would probably be home in an hour, so I don't have time for the long version. Basic rundown it is for now.

"Give me the basic rundown.", I requested.

Nodding, it opened with the biggest reveal I've heard in my life.

"Gods are real", it opened.

Before I could think further on that, it continued.

"But they don't inhabit some other plane or realm. They dwell here on Earth and in the cosmos. There are also almost none that bare a resemblance to the humanoid appearances so common in the folklore of humankind. Each one embodies something that is present. For example, the embodiment of crystals, ores and gemstones is the being known as Gurinalyit."

That explains the suggestion of a gigantic presence I've been feeling from the gemstones and ores in this mystical cave. I've been sensing something akin to a "lifeforce" in them, but it feels strange. There's no good way to explain it, but it's like there's something within the crystals and ores that is on standby, waiting for a command to do something.

"Similarly, Huakiyi is the embodiment of storms, air, tornadoes, and anything else related to the air. A third example would be Juroti, the embodiment of all that lurks underground, from the plants to the creatures. He is, in human terms, the king of the underground."

Is that the massive presence I've been feeling? It feels as if a giant creature is constantly shifting along the floor somewhere very far away, but just close enough for me to pick it up. All I know for a fact is that it's giant.

"Point is, everything you know of has what we refer to as a Kurna. A Kurna is what we use to refer to a being that embodies something. For example, Guranalyit is the Crystal Kurna, Huakiyi is the Wind Kurna, Juroti is the Underground Kurna. A Kurna holds absolute dominion over the embodiment."

Taking a moment to process what he said, I asked him something that was gnawing at me since the before he told me this.

"Who did you mean when you said "she" when I told you to explain what you were saying?", I asked.

"Kushital. Or, as you know her, the planet. Your "second mother".", it answered.

Earth Mom never told me her real name, so it felt strange to hear about it now. But it was stranger that she knew and talked to these... beings. I would need to talk with her when I go back to the surface.

"What is she the Kurna of? Life?", I asked.

"Close. She is the only Prime Kurna, meaning she embodies everything. It would be accurate to see all other Kurnas as "shards" of her embodiments."

Wow. Earth Mom is really powerful. It's to be expected, but it's still impressive.

"What of me? Does me being the son of the Prime Kurna mean anything significant?", I asked.

"Oh, words can't even begin to describe the significance of what it means. It is quite literally the most important event in Kurna history.", it responded.

"Explain.", I ordered.

Before, it was speaking similar to the way a teacher addressed their students. But when I told it to go into detail, it shifted to a tone and mood that was easily the most serious I have ever heard and seen in my life. And what it said next made me blank out for a few seconds, wondering whether I heard it correctly.

"You're the next in line to take over as Prime Kurna when she dies."
